More pronouns gone mad

It boggles the mind that 'Sing and Sign' have the option for 'they' pronouns for children under 2! (let alone older children) By completing this admissions form I would have to subscribe to this meaningless and harmless trans ideology/religion. They've lost my business.

You're not subscribing to something you don't tolerate, by filling it in with he or she. Not a hill to die on, is it.

Do under-twos even have an awareness of sex differences? Wouldn't it be more a case of the parent superimposing their own desire/bias onto the infant? Therefore not a decision the infant makes themselves? How could an infant even understand, well any of it?

Soigneur · 28/03/2024 14:49

@Hagbard parents impose their own desires and biases on their children all the time. I don't see this as any different to declaring that a 2 year old cannot eat pork, or is vegetarian. The child doesn't know or care. It's for the benefit of the parents.

Hagbard · 28/03/2024 15:58

To me, it seems more extreme than restricting food choices. The child can always change their mind and eat what they like when older. Deciding ones child is the opposite sex, then putting them on a pathway to cross-sex hormones and surgery is much harder to reverse if the child decides the parents made the wrong decision. It's fucked.

It says "booking for twins".. he/she/they.. presumably "they" for boy/girl twins

ManchesterBeatrice · 28/03/2024 16:28

Meh.

Just use our sex based pronouns?

Surely it's the same as selecting a religion for a child, it's hardly the two-year-old that has decided.

This is also a good point.

Although, actually, looking at that form, I think it is a pronoun thing, rather than two different sex twins.

Roserosewhite · 28/03/2024 16:54

A reasonable assumption, but sadly no - that was a yes/no option.
