They need an actual woman to stand up for women there nowadays.

It actually wasn't bad.

A couple of motions supporting bringing in self ID, but the vast majority was properly relevant-to-women stuff - sexual harassment at work, pregnancy rights, menopause, PPE and uniforms that actually fit, affordable childcare for shiftworkers etc. And almost all speakers just spoke about women, no identity hedging.

That's heartening - but the support that Unison seems to be giving on the self-ID front - and many women appear to support it, too, is really frustrating.

A lot of the other stuff is peripheral to men being given privileges to the detriment of women IMO.

Agreed, but given the attitude of Unison as a whole I was braced for a lot more gritting of teeth. They even had an actual lesbian talking about lesbian issues in one of the LGBTQ+ motions. And one of the others was the only motion that didn't actually get a proposer so had to be dropped.
