A place to call out everyday misogyny and share a rant!

Feel free to use this as a place to dump your examples of everyday misogyny and share a rant.

I have had a couple recently where I've calmly and respectfully asked men to not use female orientated slurs to put other men down. They've responded by explosive rants about how political correctness has gone mad, how they have the freedom of speech to say what they want whenever. I've calmly and politely responded saying I also have the freedom to say I'm uncomfortable with what they're saying. Seems like they were on the verge of exploding with indignation about my polite request. One even told me to calm down. I was perfectly calm, they were agitated.

Has anyone else had to put up with this crap recently?

Every month, maybe even every week. The most recent was someone called someone a karen in a group i'm in, I asked them not to use it, they tried to justify it, ai was having none of it. He backed down though. Men are pigs, i'm jot a fan😂.

Not sure about misogyny, but definitely sexism... Carpet salesman last weekend from major UK retailer using a sales textbook straight out of the fifties. Told me I looked beautiful (was literally in a pair of uggs with hair that desperately needed washing and my son's yoghurt down my front, so sadly this attempt at false flattery was never going to land). When I started a sentence with I'd been thinking his immediate response was "Oooo, dangerous thing that, for women to think!" and then topped it all by asking for my husband's details when we were considering finance options. Was genuinely surprised when I said it was me that would be financing it. And all of the above was in front of DH, who didn't even consciously notice any of the above until I pointed it out.

It all gives me serious ick, and needless to say we're shopping elsewhere now.
