Do you feel like you've lost your identity since becoming a parent?

You lose your old identity to become a mother, it changes your life for good and bad.
It is completely life changing to have a little one totally dependent on you.

(Unless you can pay for everything do be done by other people of course.)

With a child with very special needs even more so; my whole life revolves around this other human. It is like having a baby/toddler forever.

I sometimes wish it was different, especially for the older siblings. But then there are so many things, good and bad, and all in all I feel I’ve landed on the sunny side. And my identity before having children was a mess, so in that respect it has been useful to lose it and needing to build it up again with a different focus.

No, I haven't lost my identity or 'lost myself'. My identity has evolved and grown, not been replaced.
