Yes, that is normal for convicts who are well-behaved in prison under our parole laws

It's quite rare for individual offenders (or their crimes) to be so high profile for the parole system to be noticed at all.

But he's still under sentence - think back to the Ched Evans case, where people were insisting he'd done his time because he was no longer in prison, but actually the sentence wasn't finished (yes, I know that all changed after his re-trial, but that was the situation at the time of his release)

For good behaviour in prison I believe it is normal for a prisoner to be released early. He is entitled to be treated the same as other prisoners would be treated.

Yes, I commented before reading and thought, nope that's not old and helpless.

I have issues about certain kinds of sentences/crimes.

Generally in the UK half of a person's sentence is served on remand in prison and they are then released into the community to serve the rest. If they breach terms of the sentence/order they are sent back to prison for the rest of the sentence. It's not really a parole/good behaviour system it's just generally how the sentence works.

Well that's one way of describing child abuse...

Just saw this. He's on licence but is that a guarantee he wontbreoffend. He was unrepentant, belligerent and liable to relocate to countries where access to kids is not difficult.

Hello hello, he's back again ... and after not completing half of his sentence yet those women and girls he abused are still serving theirs. I can't imagine he's changed, he is still liable to do this stuff again.

I had hoped he was sufficiently old and frail to be unable to offend, but that's not the case.
