Fiction books for 8 -12 year olds

Are there any fiction books for this age range that have a more gc approach and or attitude....do they exist!

What is a gc approach?

I am GC but I would say the vast majority of books for this age range aren't pushing messages about diversity of gender. Might be better to ask for books that do that so you can avoid.

I'm not gc but would recommend you go back to the classics - Diana Wynne Jones wrote some good books for that age range. Also Lloyd Alexander's Prydain series. Yes, they're fantasy, but not everything has to be junior reality misery lit.

Amelia Fang we loved, as lots of drawings & the girl is the main character
