Putting this here because it's so sad that she's been forgotten about by the national papers. It was not long after Sarah Everard's murder. Two brutal killings of women walking alone. Sarah was just walking home. Julia was just walking her dog.

So glad he’s been found guilty. And because of all the things he’s said about going back to rape and kill in the woods, and that Julia ‘deserved to die’, I hope it’s for the longest possible time allowed by law.

I’m a 53 year old woman who walks her dog daily in secluded countryside, the same as Julia James was when she died. I think of her often.

@EllieQ I wasn't aware of the Bennylyn Burke case and I like to think that I keep up with the news, why didn't this get more coverage? Because she is an Asian woman? What a world when there is not absolute outrage over crimes like this.

I’ve become more aware of these crimes since following the Counting Dead Women account on twitter, which collates news reports where a woman has been killed by a man. It’s incredibly sad reading.

Its a decent sentence but it doesn't bring her back. I have so many questions about how someone like this flew under the radar, how many more like him are still out there?
