Evening, I work a 8hr shift in a call centre, we have been told today that we are only allowed to go to the toilet in our 20 min break. Surely they can't stop us going ? (especially females, what about tom)

I don’t want to offend anybody but this is the most ridiculous thread I have read.

New here? (joking, of course!)

It's normal to have set breaks but typically there's one mid morning and one mid afternoon as well as lunch for a typical working day. On factory lines etc you can't wander off at will for instance

You are an adult; you don't ask to go to the toilet. Just go.

I know this is easier said than done - I used to work in a call centre and you had to hold up different colour cards - red if you needed a manager's help, white if you needed to ask to go to the toilet. I'm fairly timid in real life and was much younger then and it was ages before I plucked up the courage to ignore and just go to the toilet without asking and nobody even noticed my tiny act of rebellion anyway!
