Somehow we got onto the topic of trans issues.
For context he is Canadian and I am Australian and we are in Australia.

He got on a bandwagon about trans issues I said while I accept everyone's right to identify how they want to the core fact is sex and gender are 2 seperate entities and that you cannot change sex no matter what you Do.
Well. This led to a 90 minute argument, me stating my case many ways and giving multiple examples, him calling me racist?and that Canada is so much further ahead and we are backwards in the west.
Any time I bought up sport issues, toilets, autistic females etc he shut me down and said I was fear mongering.

Right at the end when I asked what was needed to make a baby and can a biological male have a child he was like "well obviously not" and then again got on a high horse about transrights.

The worst part was he lives and hour away, had drunk so had to stay. Needless to say I need a new fwb.

I actually recorded the argument (and told him) and listening back today my blood is boiling.

It is so condescending for a guy who has called a woman racist and backward and fearmongering to turn around the next day and say ‘I respect you for standing your ground’ like what else is the op supposed to to? Grovel? Say adoringly of course if you say it it must be true? Thinking people can change their biological sex is like being a flat earther- just no.
I don’t see a reply yet from the poster who wanted to have a go at the op for speaking for autistic people when she was defending the rights of her autistic 11yo daughter to be safe.

@Rangoon I wouldn't call it a slanging match as both of us were giving our points of view and opinions and justifying them- passionately.
I was very put out when he called me a range things including racist, homophobic, backwards etc when I am none of those things and don't feel I represent them at all.

I'm more at a man telling a woman he is in a FWB situation with IE for sex.

Fyi OP lots of men like 'debating' women on topics that suspect or know she will feel very strongly about and/or she finds upsetting.

When Weinstein happened. And on from that metoo. I had a number of male colleagues - ones where we got on well etc. Approach me in coffee area and immediately strike up a conversation about women, men, rape and current situation.
The 'debate' that led into involved him pointing out things like. Women lie. Not fair on men. Casting couch they knew when went in sex. Claiming rape when consensual. Etc etc.
I feel strongly about this and am bad at not engaging!
Fun for them. Watching me get more and more wound up. Them poking and prodding. Gits!

Other thing is loads of men can't bear it when a woman disagrees and doesn't back down or agree to disagree etc. When she doesn't say I understand why you say that but. If she just keeps arguing his points they can get really pissed off.
