"Vienna brothel offers customers 30 minutes with 'lady of their choice' in exchange for coronavirus jab"

I have no words.

I have plenty of words. But I think I'll keep them to myself

MrsTerryPratchett · 10/11/2021 18:00

I have words.

Not even an object any more. A freebie gift with purchase.

coronaway · 10/11/2021 18:37

Surely brothels shouldn't be allowed to advertise themselves like this.

It was bad enough with some fast food chains offering free burgers to get a vaccine (considering obesity is a big factor in influencing the severity of covid) but this is another level entirely.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 10/11/2021 18:49

Eurgh. That is vile.

Villanelle17 · 10/11/2021 19:54

That's disgusting. Honestly I can't with this world.

One of the women who works at Fun Palast, who gave her name as Mina, said: "Well, I think it's a very good idea to have a vaccination street in the Fun Palast, because the name fun palace suggest to have a bit of fun here and return back to normality a bit more.

"And I also think it's a great idea that this is being offered for women, children and of course men."

OF COURSE, MEN. How many women and children (and gay men) are going to take up an offer of 30 minutes in the sauna with a "lady of your choice"? Hmm

Also, Austria is full of shite because they make it very difficult for non-EU citizens to be vaccinated unless they have perm residence; anyone there legally but temporarily or not yet fully approved for PR may be able to get the vaccine at a walk in/pop-up place, but usually can't get the official documentation. And when I left last month, they were threatening to institute lockdowns for the unvaccinated (or more accurately, the undocumented).

Anyone who has a smart speaker - this story is one of the highlighted stories on the BBC news - they only include a handful of headlines. It’s presented as a lighthearted good news story with an additional 3 minute cutesy chat with the brothel owner. None of the ethical issues are raised - it’s basically an advert for his business. I have raised a complaint. Shocking.

GeidiPrimes · 11/11/2021 11:19

"And I also think it's a great idea that this is being offered for women, children and of course men."

I doubt women and children will have much use for brothel vouchers. Pass them on to the men in the family?

Get vaccinations for the "greater good" but shit all over a minority group.

IndecentCakes · 11/11/2021 11:22

Well, I will certainly insist on my full 30 minutes with whichever lady makes a decent cup of tea Hmm

PlanDeRaccordement · 11/11/2021 11:26

Prime example of how legalised prostitution doesn’t protect women, but further degrades and oppresses them.

RobotValkyrie · 11/11/2021 12:31

"because the name fun palace suggest to have a bit of fun here and return back to normality a bit more."

What strikes me here is that clearly, their business has been affected by the pandemic, and they're desperate to attract back customers.
But this rings all kinds of alarm bells. Prostitution is not a nice, safe and healthy profession at the best of times. So what corners may be cut when times are tough?

LaBellina · 11/11/2021 12:34

Post this newsitem on social media and the responses will reveal the hardcore misogynists. Vile 🤮

BloomingTrees · 11/11/2021 12:38

for women and children

Do they really want women and children turning up ?
Can you imagine mothers turning up with their screaming children and babies for a fun afternoon at the brothel, wouldn't it rather spoil the atmosphere ?

CoalTit · 11/11/2021 14:07

I wonder who pays if the john doesn't. I fear the workers may be expected to be groped/penetrated for nothing --- for the greater good.

PicsInRed · 11/11/2021 14:09

Rape Voucher.

"Say its name."

QueenSue · 11/11/2021 14:14

"And I also think it's a great idea that this is being offered for women, children and of course men."
Children are going to have fun at a brothel? Has something been lost in translation?
Also I demand a hot 18-yo heterosexual boy in latex, or I won't get the jab.

Porcupineintherough · 11/11/2021 14:45

Fucking hell. Just when you think you've seen it all. Do they offer a free sexual health check w that?

TheMarzipanDildo · 14/11/2021 18:32

Sorry, children? Wtaf

ChristmasPlanning · 15/11/2021 14:03

Truly no words.

So disturbing

PiffleWiffleWoozle · 20/11/2021 12:53

CHILDREN?!? This would be illegal, no?

LawnFever · 20/11/2021 12:56

This is truly something that should have i if ever been imagined in some dark dystopian fiction, how vile Sad

TheWeeDonkey · 21/11/2021 18:53

Is there something going on in Vienna that we don't know about?

emilyisag88 · 22/11/2021 09:48

I don't understand why if you hadn't got it by this point that would be the moment that wins the internal argument to get it.
