Alderman Vs Alderwoman Discussion on BBC Radio Lancashire

Did anyone listen to the discussion on the new use of the term 'Alderwoman' this morning on BBC Radio Lancashire?
Honestly, I'd never heard of Alderman before, however it really irritated me how negative Graham Liver to the caller and his lack of understanding of how it could possibly bother her.
