I've read similar statistics and stories before. It's both sad and terrifying that this is the world my tween is entering.

It's terrifying. And then we wonder why violence against women and girls is increasing, and why our rights are being removed everywhere. Half of the lawmakers and politicians, living the fast high-adrenaline lifestyles, will have grown up with this. Women and girls are just toys to them, and there are no consequences for men.

Reading this has actually made me cry. I feel so sad and scared for all these young women and girls who are subjected to this abuse.

My ten year old son has all ready asked about porn. I think he's friend shares a room with his older brother and I suppose that's how the younger boys hear about it ... I was a bit taken a back. He's only 10, I wasn't expecting to have these conversations yet. But I tried my best to tell him that porn wasn't a real depiction of sex.

I just don't know how I'm meant to be protect my children from this. And it scares me. My daughter is 3, and I am so, so worried about her future.

My daughter is 15. We have talked about this. She says the right thing, is avoiding boys completely for the time being and is somewhat concerned about her friends who seem to value themselves entirely on how sexualy attractive they appear to boys.

I don't know how her resolve would hold up if she were in this situation though.

It terrifies me.

Very sad. The change goes far beyond what is described, including the impact on body image and clothing (body image also applies to boys and young men).

I think porn has ruined a generation. Ten or so years ago I had some very frank conversations with some of my younger cousins about their expectations around sex because I was younger and I guess easier to approach about it than parents. The girls at 12 to 15 were asking about Brazilian bikini waxes and the noises they had heard they were expected to make and whether they had to or not. The boys, similar age range, then just seemed terrified of the concept of real life sex. None of them had ventured further than kissing at that point.

I was horrified at the time and told them (with parents' ok and in an age appropriate way) that real sex should be fun and joyful for both parties, is sometimes ridiculous rather than sexy, and that it should only ever happen with enthusiastic consent on both sides.

As my friends now have children who are heading towards their tweens, I am saddened and terrified by the way extreme porn has seemingly become the norm.

(and they are all now bored senseless of me telling them about bodily autonomy, being comfortable in your skin and having your body how you want it - but I hope some of it has sunk in and saved them from the further impacts newnortherner mentions.

I remember in one episode she asked mixed groups of girls and guys to come up with a perfect date where nothing was off limits and come back to the room and discuss it. The lads in one group dominated the discussion and came back to describe the date with the end of the date being climaxing on the girls face. The girls were quiet. The following week the educator took the girls to one side and said were you happy with all aspects of the described date. They stated they weren't. So when quizzed felt that they would not be liked if they didn't go along with what the guys wanted. The teacher then brought the guys back in and got the girls to express the reality of what they liked and didn't like. The guys were absolutely shocked that the girls didn't want to be executed over especially on their face

Good to the boys made progress- valuable life lessons there.
Would like to see more schools following this instead of looking at jelly babies

God. It's so sad that we need to talk to them about it at such a young age about porn isn't it? It's depressing & scary.

But we do need to talk to them 🤷🏻‍♀️

That video depresses me so much. We’ve regressed. Those boys barely see the girls as human beings. It was bad when I was a kid but it was changing. Now porn has just set us back.

And the girls felt too shy to speak up. Thank goodness they finally did.

The bit that made me hate that boy was when he started moaning that the boys had too much homework. Twisting the narrative to make the boys seem like victims.

Just so depressing.
