Just testing...

No idea. No-one knows which goes where or why.

Anyway on a practical level I'm going to have to keep threads from both at the top of my 'Threads I'm Watching' in order to have quick access to both boards. That's twice the amount of clicking about within-topic I'm going to have to do.

Something weird has happened.
The 'feminism chat' board is full of threads. Yet the reason for having a separate board was supposedly that there were no non-'sex & gender' threads as that was all FWR was?

The thread on 'who walks you down the aisle' has been moved to Sex and Gender - why?

I may be wrong but I thought that was started by one of the posters who proposed the split because they didn't find enough stuff they wanted to read in Feminism Chat? Bit ironic then...!

For fuck's sake. Hang on, does that make this about sex? 🤷‍♀️

MNHQ must be utterly overloaded with gender ideologists targeting them right now. (After Maya).

Pretty sure it's a "fuck it" moment and I do not blame them one bit.

Hopefully the long term plan is to have a separate Feminist area under sex/gender where you can actually speak freely about facts etc, but for now the sex/gender feminist area is still under strict surveillance wrt language as it was under feminist chat.

Maybe there's more chance for change now.

Are you saying the changes have been made, no discussion / survey / no announcement.

It was mentioned, lots of people said "we hate that idea" so Mumsnet went ahead anyway.

I mean, it's their board, they can do what they want, but really!

@AdHominemNonSequitur

I thought you were part of the solution MNHQ, it seems you are part of the problem. I'm guessing new management structure. Do you have a TRA newly employed in a high up decision making capacity perhaps? That seems to be the modus operandi, infiltrate management.

Well I don't trust you anymore and I'm off. Fuck you.

That's what they want. I hope you don't.

What on earth have they done that for.
Don't they think sex and gender are rather relevant to feminism!

Disappointed.

I was do close to signing up to Premium but not now. I now have two threads to scroll through and I really can't see the distinction. It's ridiculous.

@littlbrowndog

Am lost. 🤷‍♀️

Ditto.

The decision to split the board…. Up to MN, for better or for worse.

But I’m struggling to understand the choice to stick some of the old content under a new name whilst retaining the old name for some of the content without explaining directly to users on the board 1) that it has been split 2) how it has been split; what are the criteria applied to each thread? 3) how should posters use the two split boards going forward? How to know where to start a new thread? 4) which language rules apply where?

I'm not now.
My £5 a month is going to Sex Matters instead.

Yes... I'm quite cross about this. No rhyme or reason to what old threads went where that I can see. Threads about feminist issues nothing to do with 'gender' ending up on 'sex and gender'.Confused
