Teach everyone that a rape happens every 4 minutes in the UK.

Teach them that of the 350 people who will be raped today, only 115 will trust the police enough to tell them about it.

Teach them that only 6 of today's rapists will be charged, and just 4 convicted.

Point out that the 346 men who got away with rape today did so, not because it was a reasonable thing to do, or she was asking for it, or it did no harm, but because there too many men to catch.

And because men built the system, passed the laws, and set the budgets, for those doing the catching

Looking at the comments it's all "what about the menzzz".
Women have such an uphill struggle to get society to take this more seriously.

Great article followed unfortunately by the usual " What about the men attacked..?" and Not all men are like that comments. Men really don't like to face up to their sex's violent behaviour?

I find the two articles in deep contrast, one very serious about not blaming and the next 'oh isn't it a laugh that she smashed his laptop' This is not 'what about the menz', but more that as a society some things are just seen as a bit of a laugh and if that is ok why should other things be taken seriously and not considered 'well they deserved it'.

Stop leaving it to women to defuse the bombs they are presented with by men too emotionally illiterate to make something better of their feelings.

Because this is where all the interesting threads will end up, because it’s such a PITA to have to keep going back to the main Talk board to switch between the two?

Because everything comes down to sex, as in these are female bodies being abused by male bodies, ultimately?

I put it in feminism chat this morning, before the Great Division. Yes, in a tabloid! Published in the Mirror, but I don't know if it was web-only, or in the print edition too.

I don't know why my thread got moved to Sex and Gender, and your guess is as good as mine!

Maybe report your OP and ask them to move it back?
I think a lot of the redistribution must have been arbitrary or using some inadequate automated rules.
