I go to work. I come home.

Then I go to work and come home.

Five days a week. Then weekends I sit.

No money to do anything, nothing I really want to do anyway. No one to do it with.

Sometimes I feel like even in jail I might have people to talk to.

Any chance you are based in London OP?

LittleBirdBlues · 21/02/2018 19:43

How are you doing this evening op?

Isthisit33 · 21/02/2018 19:51

The kindness you’ve shown is more than I deserve, it really is. Thank you.

No it's not. You deserve to be treated with kindness @Isthisit33 .

VladmirsPoutine · 21/02/2018 20:03

Your confidence is shot, isn't it?

SavageBeauty73 · 21/02/2018 20:09

I've actually been thinking about you today.

Starting a thread is a positive achievement (apart from the arsehole comments to you). Why don't you try and make one change a day? Baby steps.

Isthisit33 · 21/02/2018 20:10

It is, Vlad, I’m afraid!

How was work today?

Isthisit33 · 21/02/2018 20:15

Ok Smile

What do you do? Is it fun? I'm in a bit of a perilous situation atm because I'm freelancing but I want to find a permanent position with all the good perks like holidays and sick pay. I panic about losing or finding clients. I don't want that kind of life anymore. Yes it brings freedom but it also brings a great deal of stress that I'd just much rather do without! Fucking hell!

Isthisit33 · 21/02/2018 20:25

I’m lucky to have it as it is a secure permanent position, but I do find it doesn’t leave much room for anything else if that makes sense.

Was there a good bit about today? Something that made you think ‘ah, that’s good’. Sometimes when I’m feeling as low as you sound I try really hard to appreciate the tiniest things - a good cup of tea, a bit of sunshine, being able to finish work on time.

What are you going to do this evening?

EbonyJade · 21/02/2018 20:56

Hi OP, I think you should see a GP and try new anti depressants- you would need to give them a few weeks to really kick in & for the side effects to wear off... seriously the right ADs really helped me.

I don't know if you have a pet but having the challenge of a rescue cat has really helped give me something to get up for too.

erinaceus · 21/02/2018 21:08

Good to hear that work was OK.

VladmirsPoutine · 21/02/2018 21:09

Do you have a good work life balance? Presumably you're not posting from the office? Gah! I certainly don't miss the days when I'd still be in the office at 8/9pm.

SleepIsForTheWeek · 21/02/2018 22:58

Hey Isthisit, glad to see you are back. How are you doing today? Am glad this thread has taken a more positive turn. We're here to chat if you want.

user764329056 · 21/02/2018 23:18

People who come onto these kind of threads to give someone a kicking are cheap, nasty people with very sorry souls, their posts speak volumes about their ugliness

OP I hope today has been a degree brighter

LittleBirdBlues · 21/02/2018 23:40

Hope tomorrow is a good day! SmileFlowers

Have you got any ideas of what you are going to do at the weekend?

ginandbearit · 22/02/2018 18:43

Don't want to hijack thread so will just say hi to Vladimir ..am there too after ten years of freelancing all getting v stressful and scraping the barrel ...as for OP I get where you are too ...have become quite isolated and pretty broke , and man do i hate Sundays .
Hope you can find another way of life that raises your mood ...one of the reasons i found work years ago in a hospital was for the social aspect of it..maybe look for a career change? Best wishes 👍

SukiTheDog · 22/02/2018 19:48

@ginandbearit, when I was single (and when married come to think of it) I never minded working shifts/weekends/nights. It was a nice way of being around people when I’d otherwise have been on my own (at 38 my friends were either married or in relationships/with children).

Hope you’ve had an OK day, @isthisit 😊

VladmirsPoutine · 22/02/2018 20:20

How's things going today @Isthisit33?

Huntinginthedark · 22/02/2018 22:00

Thinking of you
It’s horrific to be in a dark place and feel no reason to exist. I know it well.
