it would damage it, wouldn't it? What might happen?

Broken foot?

Magneto · 30/05/2012 13:18

It would be crushed...

It's not much help but a car ran over dh's foot once but he had steel toe capped boots on at the time and didn't even feel it.

DrasticMeasures · 30/05/2012 13:19

That's good, magneto!

Crushed sounds complicated.

So what's the story Drastic?

chipmunksex · 30/05/2012 13:22

A car ran over my foot once, it hurt like buggery and my toes went black for a bit.

DrasticMeasures · 30/05/2012 13:23

Did it break it, chipmunk?

Not necessarily.

I've had my foot run over twice - with the result of lots of pain but not much visable... once by a mini-forklift when wearing proper boots and once a car when I was wearing trainers. I think the weight distribution around 4 tires is quite even so it doesn't do as much damage as you might think.

I don't think I was visibly bruised either time (although once the shock wore off it was very painful for a day or two)

DrasticMeasures · 30/05/2012 13:23

No story, sparkling.

Oh sorry Drastic I had horrible visions of you wondering whether to go to A&E or something. Sad

DrasticMeasures · 30/05/2012 13:26

Thanks TeWi.

Sparkling, I need to be signed off work. I need an injury but don't want anything too complicated. I hoped a car running over my foot would work but it seems it might not. Need to think of something else.

No it wasn't broken-I didn't go and get it checked though, too far to walk with sore toes.

But, hold on a minute, are you planning to make something up to be signed off work Confused

DrasticMeasures · 30/05/2012 13:30

I'm not going to make anything up.

Hi drastic I'm going to ask the real reason why your needing sick leave? Please ignore if you don't want to share or I have missed a thread about your situation.

PollyLove · 30/05/2012 13:32

What's wrong with work? Are you okay?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/05/2012 13:33

I'm sure if you go to the GP and say you are going to harm yourself to get a sickline they would sign you off for stress or depression or something.

MarvellousYou · 30/05/2012 13:33

So you're going to self-harm?! Confused

MarvellousYou · 30/05/2012 13:34

If it helps, I think you'd get more time off with stress than with a sore foot.

chipmunksex · 30/05/2012 13:36

If things are so bad you are considering hurting yourself on purpose to get signed off, you need some help.

Tell us for a start; loads of good advice here and not too much judgement, not from me anyhow.

Wassup?

DrasticMeasures · 30/05/2012 13:36

I just can't manage work and life. And since I can't (and don't want to) opt out of life, I need to do something about work. I can't afford to give up so I need a legitimate reason. If I have an injury, I might get some time off. I know it's madness.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 30/05/2012 13:37

Can't you get signed off with stress or anxiety?

DrasticMeasures · 30/05/2012 13:37

I don't want a sore foot, I want to hurt it badly enough that I can't go back to work. I can't think of any other way to injure myself badly enough

OP posts:
CailinDana · 30/05/2012 13:38

You can get signed off for stress, you don't need a physical injury.

Elephantsteaparty · 30/05/2012 13:38

Can I suggest a GP and get signed off with depression? No need to make anything up, and it sounds like you need the help. Failing that, unpaid leave?

DrasticMeasures · 30/05/2012 13:39

I'm not stressed, I just can't manage everything. I'm better when I don't have to work, I'm nicer with DC, I sleep properly. My dr will just tell me to carry on. I don't want everyone to think I'm not coping.

fuckarama · 30/05/2012 13:39

Get yourself signed off with anxiety - go to the doctor.

Don't think of self-harming.
