Hi all,

I am 56, post menopausal and keen to lose about 8lbs so am attempting 16;8.i was snacking in the evening and I think im
better with a black and white approach.

Ive decided to do it 5 days a week. I’m on my fourth since I started and it seems ok.

is 5 days a week ok? Do I need to go into serious calorie deficit when eating? Any advice generally? Like when I might see the scales shift?

I eat clean, mostly, a lot of protein and I exercise 3-4 times a week plus walking the dog

Calorie deficit is the only way to lose weight.

Sounds great... to be honest it depends on your body... a mate lost a stone just doing 16/8 and nothing else...

So suggest you see these first weeks as learning how your body responds. And from my experience as I've got older it's those 2 days of "relaxation" that have the biggest impact on whether I lose weight or not. If you can do more 16/8 in some weeks, I would encourage it...and yes, eating healthily in that window is so important.

Good luck - and come and let us know how things are looking after the first week
