All are welcome!

We’re a friendly group that uses Fasting in one form or another to lose weight or maintain our weight loss. We all have our ups and downs, and welcome insights from others and laughter along the way.

Gosh - September seems so close now, and I thought summer had only just begun. Hopefully you've got lovely August plans and strategies to safeguard weight loss.

Fridays are our informal day for weighing-in (optional) and reflecting on the week – often with ideas for self-care and new goals for the coming week.

We cheer each other on, and commiserate when things don't go to plan.

If you’re new to this group, do introduce yourself and share your hopes and plans.

Some of us find daily posting helpful for accountability - others just pop in every now and then

The biggest mistake I made last Christmas @tiredwitless was getting ahead of myself. There were only the two of us for Christmas but I carried on doing what I had always done in the past when there were many more of us, i.e. start shopping in September, buying things on offer etc.
Consequently, a lot of the stuff I bought in September was eaten, meaning it needed to be bought again, and that pattern continued right up until Christmas eve!
We got through a lot of chocolate oranges, Lindt reindeers and santas, and After Eights, not to mention the booze and mince pies!

I am taking a different approach this year. I will have a shopping delivery on the 23rd as usual, and that will be the only shop that has Christmas stuff in it. I expect nothing will be on offer, but it will actually end up costing less as I won't need to keep replacing things. I made a note in January of the things we really enjoyed and they are the only things I will buy this year; we just ate some stuff for the sake of it. I'll make my cake next month but only DH eats it so that's safe from me (I don't eat nuts but always put them in for him).

I plan on not logging calories on 24th, 25th and 26th December, nor on 31st and 1st Jan. I intend to stick to 16:8 as much as possible unless I have to be sociable 😋
Every other day will be business as usual, either continuing to lose or maintain, depending on how the rest of this year goes.

I am determined not to waste a year of hard work 💪

Hey hey @tiredwitless - We'll definitely all come up with GREAT strategies for Christmas.... let's discuss more in Nov/Dec threads... for the FIRST time last year, I had one that really worked and felt so darn proud of myself
