I do a 36-hour wet fast once per week. It took a few weeks to get used to it, but now I can comfortably do it weekly.

Are you seeing any benefits to this, sounds extreme.

Keroppi · 04/01/2023 00:14

I see zero benefits in my daily life. Are there some health benefits to fasting, maybe. Seems like so much of the science is based on lab animals and the assumption of stuff like autophagy happening etc. Similarly, I've been looking into cold-water therapy, but I think the claims are even less substantiated than fasting.

If you see zero benefit then can I so why you do it?

Oh I see. And why does it involve? Just drinking clear fluids or something?

36 hours of not eating and only drinking water.

I do this and it really works for me!

I lost 30 pounds and have managed to keep it off for over two years.

I do it once a week, going from my last meal on Tuesday evening then not eating again until Thursday lunch time. In the meantime I drink black coffee, green tea and lots of water.

It's been a natural progression for me. I started off on 5/2, but although it worked I eventually got fed up of counting and thinking about those 500 calories.

It's obviously not for everyone, but if you want to find out more have a look at Jason Fung's videos on YouTube. It really makes sense to me and I believe it's got wider health benefits, not just weight loss.

AllOfThemWitches · 09/01/2023 18:59

Every week!? Life's too short. Are you losing weight?

Fasti · 09/01/2023 20:03

I do it every week, haven't lost an ounce.
