Fasting / 5:2 diet

I’m worried now that I’ve fucked my bowels up!

I started fasting at 7pm last night with the intention of going 24hrs then having a bit of fruit and protein shake after my gym session.

But instead I got to 3pm (20hrs), found out we have ofsted coming tomorrow and my subject is being deep dived. Managed to get to half 4 and caved out of stress!

I’ve eaten a small amount of left over lasagne, 3 slices of toast with butter and a small portion of macaroni cheese!

I now have a headache and feel sick 😫

Have you thought about starting with a gentler fasting pattern? 16 hours maybe? Might be more sustainable and less of a shock to the system. That sounds like a bit of a binge to me, which isn’t a healthy habit for someone trying IF.

Have you been drinking plenty of water?

I’m not in to binge eating at all! Pretty good with healthy moderation. But I just got home and raided the cupboard! I’m blaming my husband for the bread as he bought naice focaccia from booths and then buggered off to work for a week!

The other foods were part of the kid’s meals!

I normally skip breakfast which means I regularly go 16hrs without food but don’t think of it as fasting as I’m not strict with it and drink lots of tea with milk.

I drank 6 cups of herbal tea today and a glass of water.
