November IF/eating window accountability thread

I've well & truly embraced the IF way of life, I fast every day with an eating window of between 4-6 hours on average.

Lost two stone this year, ideally like to lose a bit more as I'm hovering right at the top of ideal BMI, and have been plateauing here for a few months now.

I suspect the reason is that I have days where o have a longer eating window, and days where my diet isn't the best (occasional carb binges still!). On a positive though I'm also a lot fitter and leaner than I was at the same weight a couple of months ago.

I want to try to keep a tight eating window for a month, and take greater care over what I'm eating. If that doesn't work I may consider a period of ADF to shift a few pounds for good!

Would anyone like to join me in an accountability thread for a month?

@Neeko your 'boastful' post is what I need to hear. I'm new to IF and settling into the rhythm but not feeling much effect yet. I'm sticking with it and gradually trimming my eating window.

I find drinks with sweeteners make my fast harder but have had some on nights out.

@BrownMilk newbie here too and feel the same! Would love to have seen a loss after week 1😫
but will keep at it as it’s definitely got me eating better and less crap

I love IF but have well and truly fallen off the wagon this last few weeks. I’ve been binging on junk and I feel fat, bloated, sluggish and gross.

restarting today with a 24 hour fast then back to 18:6 for me.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 23/11/2022 20:06

Put it behind you @BrewandBiscuit and just get back on the wagon. Still 4 weeks to Christmas so plenty of time to make a difference.

I'm still doing it, mostly 17/7 the odd day it's been 16/8. Weekends are a struggle of course but I try not to think of it as a diet and reckon if I'm sticking to it most of the time it's bound to have sone effect!

Be kind to yourself @BrewandBiscuit. These things happen and it's only been a few weeks. The main thing is that you are getting back to it now. You DID fast during that time (as you can't eat when you are sleeping 😊), you just didn't fast as long as you meant to.

TarasChoc · 24/11/2022 19:02

I agree with @Neeko be kind to yourself @BrewandBiscuit ease yourself back into it and go from there.
As you know only too well starting IF really is as simple as skipping breakfast at first.

Crystaly · 28/11/2022 13:33

Can I join? Downloaded the zero app and have gradually weaned myself off milky tea and coffee in the morning so I’d say I’ve only been doing proper IF for a week. Feeling less bloated, more energy so will see how it goes.

BrownMilk · 28/11/2022 16:41

Welcome @Crystaly!

TarasChoc · 28/11/2022 19:05

Welcome @Crystaly and well done on having your first week over.

NorseKiwi · 29/11/2022 02:52

Well I am doing ok at skipping breakfast actually. I've been finding if I have my lunch later at say 1-2pm, I am not that hungry at 6-7pm for dinner, so I think by eating at 11-12am, will make me hungrier for 5-6pm so I can digest my dinner earlier!
