Starting the 5:2 for the first time, any buddies?

Hi,

I'm starting the 5:2 for the first time, it's going to be my first fast day tomorrow 😬 I'm also going to do 16:8 on the fast days. Anyone else just starting and want to buddy up? 🤗
I'm planning to get my starting weight in the morning, but think I have around 20kg to loose. Did measurements this evening, hips were 116.5cm and my tummy at the widest is 118cm. Looking forward to seeing some results! 😁

I’ve been doing the 5:2 plan on Nutracheck… it’s early days, but it’s looking like this plan/way of life might be a game changer for me 🤞🏼

I’ve done my first day today! I’m in bed and hungry, but feel really energetic! I highly recommend bare naked noodles with a miso soup powder mixed in. Really took the edge off my hunger. I’m going to do 16:8 on my non 5:2 too. Good luck tomorrow!

I weighed in at exactly 80kg this morning and I'm hoping to be more around the 60kg mark. I'm also breastfeeding so going to start on 700cals and see how I go.
@charliesmama that sounds great, I'm really hoping this will become a way of life for me too 🤞🏻 haven't heard of Nutracheck, will have a look into it.

It's been a long day 🙈 managed ok this morning, just kept drinking water when I got a hunger pang. Had Tesco Plant Chef Smokey Lentil soup at lunchtime, but really struggled with hunger this afternoon and started feeling pretty desperate for food so had my dinner just now, earlier than I had planned. I had eggs and beans and one slice of toast. Still feel hungry after but haven't got any more cals left today so will just have to keep drinking water and maybe an early night 🙈 does it get any easier? 🙈

@Katnissx I went to bed hungry last night, but woke up this morning and didn’t feel hungry at all. Was starving by about 10:30 so had a pot of porridge, I didn’t make 16:8 but I will tomorrow. Just keep drinking warm drinks, maybe have an oxo cube drink? That might help. Just keep thinking how good you will feel in the morning when you have done it!

@111cleopatra thanks, yeah I had a cup of black coffee and a herbal tea and felt better after that, although I have now got a headache 😑 but I'm feeling proud of myself, I'm getting the little ones to bed now so I'm also going to bed early which means I've done it- 16:8 and just under 700cals woohoo 😁 bring on eating everything tomorrow 🙈 really it hasn't been so bad though, I think I will be able to do it twice a week so hopefully this will be a new way of life for me 🥰 good luck for your 16:8 tomorrow!

Hello. Please may I join? I've started 5:2 today and it's my first fast day. Planning to do Mondays and Thursdays as my fast days. I have 1.5 stone to lose. Tempted to not eat at all on the fast days but not sure how sustainable that will be!

I'd like to join as well. I need to lose 10kg, although in an ideal world it would probably be slightly more than that! I was thinking of fasting Wednesday and Friday, which will also help break my end of the work week wine drinking habit. It pretty much has to be those days as I do a fairly intense exercise class on Mondays and Tuesdays and I need the calories to have enough energy!

I also think this is a great time of year to be doing it because soup is relatively low-calorie and autumn/winter is soup season in my head.

Hi im late to the game... Can I join... wanting to do fast days on Wednesday and Friday also... just worked out my tdee... wanting to lose around 60lbs but I'm going to start realistically with 14lbs.. 1 stone at a time.. xxxc

We had a long weekend away so I didn't end up fasting on Thursday or Monday, so I've decided to fast tomorrow but my heart's really not in it. I found my last fast day (last Monday) really hard so I'm kind of dreading tomorrow 😑

@Katnissx I always find the anticipation worse than than actual FD... Just grit your teeth and jump in! Make sure you have fruit tea, sparkling water, sugar free squash etc to chug on, I find it really helps

Planning to start on monday. Did 5.2 pre covid and it really worked but I let it slip. Am now 10st 11lb and at 5ft 4 feel too heavy. Would like to lose at least a stone. Good luck everyone, I think this way of losing weight works well.
