Accountability thread: 14 days of Fast800

Last year I did so well and lost 3 stone. I then regained half of it due to binge eating. Feeling pretty rubbish and get so demotivated when the scales hardly move. I also hate the fact that one day of bad eating can undo a whole week of work. I get uncontrollable food cravings so I am interested in stabilising blood sugar.

I will use this thread to document my time on the Fast800 diet. Feel free to follow, comment or just ignore!
I have just finished day 2 so will do both days below and then try to update daily.

SW: 82.5 kg (13 st 1) - my highest weight ever was 14 st 7
GW: 71 kg (11 st 1)
Height: 5'7''

Day 1:
Fasted til 12 noon. Then had greek yoghurt, ground almonds, raspberries, followed by 2 eggs, smoked salmon, sauteed spinach, lettuce and dressing.
Dinner: poached salmon, spinach, lettuce. More yoghurt and some strawberries.
839 calories, 27 g carbs

Felt okay. A bit spaced out but no hunger really. Some trouble getting to sleep but nothing too bad.

Day 2:
Breakfast: greek yoghurt, strawberries, hazelnuts
Lunch: fried squid, squeeze of lemon, salad leaves
Snack: 40 g dried cured beef slices
Dinner: fried halloumi, cabbage salad, roasted broccoli

805 calories, 31 g carbs

Felt tired in the morning and I didn't last past until 10 am before I had to have breakfast. Felt pretty good after breakfast and then had a bit of a slump in the afternoon and felt weak but nothing too bad. Also feel a bit constipated so I have taken 2 senna tablets this evening.

I have been told that days 3 and 4 are the worst so I am pretty apprehensive. If it gets too much, I will eat more but keep it low carb. Have ordered some keto sticks so look forward to testing those out when they arrive.

Wow, you’re doing so well! 7 lb is amazing.
Definitely not beating myself up about it. It really helped to have a few extra calories and I slept pretty well too. I will do the same again if I start feeling a bit off over the next couple of weeks.

Day 9:
Today I felt way better than yesterday. Lots of energy, not much hunger and just felt pretty good. Seems like those extra 170 or so cals yesterday did the job.

Food:
Lunch: smoked salmon, avocado, poached eggs
Snack: emmenthal cheese, Brazil nuts
Dinner: chicken breaded with ground almonds, salad with lettuce, cucumber and tomato, dressing, Greek yoghurt, strawberries.

Calories: 817, carbs: 22 g

Day 10: felt fine again today and found it quite easy to stick to the diet. Tomorrow I will be over half way through it. Looking forward to when I can weigh and find out my progress this week. My stomach still looks a bit big but I definitely feel tighter and more toned since I started.

Food:
Lunch: sliced beef, broccoli, mashed avocado, eggs
Dinner: fried spinach, mince chopped tomato
Snack: cheese, Brazil nuts, yoghurt, strawberries

Cals: 850 Carbs: 22g

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Ontherebound34 · 02/08/2021 18:32

Seem to have spelled my username wrong there! But it’s definitely me!

Day 11: another good day, although I definitely have less physical strength than normal. I tried doing a bit of weight lifting and couldn’t do as many reps as I normally would.

Food:
Lunch: my version of cheese soufflé (feta, eggs, baking powder and some grated cheddar baked in the oven), oven baked broccoli, mashed avocado
Dinner: poached salmon, lettuce, tomatoes, dressing
Snacks: slice of emmental cheese, Brazil nuts, Greek yoghurt, blueberries

Cals: 840 Carbs: 27g

Hi! Still here, plodding on with this.

Leftover chicken in ham, leek cheese sauce with mushrooms and spinach for lunch yesterday, followed by a beef mince stew with brocolli and a single Yorkshire pudding (the aunt Bessie's frozen small ones are 7.5g carbs each, surprisingly low).

Today I've had BBQ chicken for lunch, trying to decide what to have for dinner?

Another 1lb down, so 8lb down so far, this is day 9.

How long are you planning on going for, rebound?

Ontherebound34 · 04/08/2021 17:46

That’s amazing weight loss! Nearly a pound a day. Glad you’re still going strong. My plan is to keep doing it for 21 days and then I will switch on to the 5:2.

Day 12: all went fine today and no excessive hunger.

Food:
Lunch: sliced ham, mustard, cheese, boiled egg and tomatoes
Dinner: roasted broccoli, salmon, lettuce, tomato, dressing
Snack: Purition protein shake made with almond milk (these shakes are so yummy by the way, no fake taste at all and all natural ingredients)

Hi, placemarking for later. I'll read through your thread for some motivation because I want to start the F800 in the next week or so.

Onthereabound34 · 05/08/2021 23:04

Good luck for when you start it! It’s a bit tricky at first but just make sure you persevere.

Day 13:
Another normal day. Good energy levels and I’m no longer constipated at all. Tempted to weigh myself but I don’t want to be disappointed by PMS weight so I will hold off.

Food:
Lunch: fried spinach, ham and mustard, slice of cheese, scrambled eggs
Dinner: roast chicken, salad. Greek yoghurt and blueberries.

Cals: 820 Carbs: 27

Ontherebound34 · 07/08/2021 06:00

Oops. Forgot to update yesterday but all went fine. It’s becoming quite normal now, to the extent that I am wondering whether I should do 28 days rather than 21 because it definitely feels doable. I think I will decide when I weigh in at the end of the 21 days. Otherwise, I will switch on to the 5:2 but try to maintain the lowish carb element because I’m loving the no hunger thing!

Food:
Lunch: ham, cheese, scrambled egg, red pepper, tomatoes
Snack: Purition protein shake with almond milk
Dinner: grilled halloumi, tofu, roasted veg, green salad

Cals: 850 carbs: 18

Day 15

Not so active today and I have a bit of a headache but not diet-related I think.

Food:
Lunch: egg, cheese, tomatoes
Dinner: smoked trout, fried garlic courgette
Snack: low carb protein shake with blueberries

Joining for the great recipe ideas! Hoping to start Fast800 tomorrow (also a binge eater 😔)

Ontherebound34 · 08/08/2021 08:58

Good luck with starting it. It’s definitely good for combatting binge eating because after the first four days, you don’t feel that hungry and if you do, it’s not that horrible kind of hunger that leads to a binge. If I think about high carb foods now, I don’t fancy them at all whereas before my mouth would start watering.

Day 16:
Can’t believe I’ve done 16 days! Time is flying by and it’s almost become a way of life now. Going to weigh in a couple of days but I can see changes in the mirror without stepping on the scale which is great.

Lunch: omelette, smoked salmon, salad with tomato and lettuce, dressing
Snack: Purition choc and beetroot shake with almond milk, slice of cheese
Dinner: fried marinated tofu, salad with tomato, cucumber and lettuce, dressing

Cals: 839 carbs: 15g

Ontherebound34 · 09/08/2021 18:59

Day 17:
Went for a really long walk today but didn’t feel tired at all, which was good. I’ve also noticed that this month I have had almost no PMT. I normally get teary and depressed but this month nothing. I also got very little pain whereas I’m normally in bed with a hot water bottle. Definitely about twice as heavy than normal but that could also be because I had my Covid jab a few weeks ago and lots of women have reported effects on their cycle.

Food:
Lunch: scrambled eggs, guacamole, salad, dressing
Dinner: curry with vegetables, paneer cheese and chicken
Snack: babybel cheese

Cals: 830 carbs: 21g

OP posts:
Ontherebound34 · 10/08/2021 21:16

Day 18:
Quite bad constipation today (need to get more fibre I think) but otherwise it was another normal day. I’m contemplating staying on it for another week, making 28 days in total but will decide what to do by the end of the week.

Food:
Lunch: eggs, slice of emmenthal, lettuce, tomato, dressing
Dinner: stir fry with broccoli, pepper, mange-tout, courgette, and tofu
Snack: yoghurt, blueberries

Cals: 840 Carbs: 34 g

OP posts:
Ontherebound34 · 11/08/2021 18:41

Day 19: I am probably going to stay on the Fast800 for an extra week, so 28 days in total. It just feels quite easy at the moment so I don’t want to stop without needing to and losing out on the potential weight loss. I think 28 days will be the maximum though, although I can’t imagine at the moment how I will be able to double my calories on non-fast days!

Food:
Lunch: omelette with cheese, salad with lettuce and tomato, dressing
Dinner: prawn and vegetable curry
Snack: Brazil nuts, blueberries

Calories: 804, Carbs: 32 g

Hi! Sorry I went MIA- I had a half planned night off on Friday for my partner's birthday, followed by covid hitting the house on Saturday. Managed to get back on it, and back to 12.13 for this morning's weigh in, but I've now got covid as of last night, plus my period has finally started, so I've just hit the biscuits. Tomorrow is another day, eh?

KnobJockey · 12/08/2021 14:09

Well done on carrying on and doing so well!

Ontherebound34 · 12/08/2021 17:30

Oh no, what a nightmare! Can totally understand why you wouldn’t want to be doing the diet at the moment. Hope you don’t have many symptoms and that it doesn’t last too long.

OP posts:
Ontherebound34 · 12/08/2021 19:58

Day 20: I went a bit over my calories today as I felt really hungry for some reason. All low carb though so ketosis not affected.

Food:
Lunch: smoked salmon, eggs, salad, dressing
Dinner: prawn curry, broccoli
Snacks: berries, babybel, cheese slices, Parma ham

Calories: 1275 Carbs: 24 g

OP posts:

Day 21:
Fasted until 4pm today which was not entirely voluntary- I was stuck in horrible traffic on the M5. Feeling good today though and like I could do this way of eating for a long time. As I move into week 4, I will increase calories a little bit where necessary.

Lunch: smoked salmon, eggs, avocado, roasted broccoli

Snack: purition strawberry shake with almond milk
Dinner: 1 burger, 1 slice emmental cheese, oven roasted kale, tomatoes

Cals: 870 Carbs: 23 g
