Well done for not craving! Bit of extra oatly sounds pretty minor! I keep having to make my family hot cross buns and it’s torture not just stuffing one in my mouth. But I’m another lb down today so so feel mega motivated.
According to the Facebook group this is the list of veg you can eat without counting the calories-

Hows everyone doing this morning?

OP posts:
BoozeHound · 06/02/2021 15:42

Feeling ok! Better than yesterday but I’m thinking about food all the time, even had a dream about all the different things I wanted to eat!
Have you weighed yet?
I’m wondering a bit about fat, at the moment I’m having about 50% fat each day (30 % protein 20% carbs) seems like a lot of fat, but not sure if this matters?

shreddergodo · 06/02/2021 17:40

@BoozeHound 😂 I’ve been there with food dreams. I find the thinking comes and goes, I’ve muted all the foody things I follow in IG and that helped and just trying to keep as busy as possible. Really fancied a cheeky Starbucks yesterday!

I did end up weighing- 10 stone 6 lbs. i don’t remember what my weight was in stone so I’m just going to ignore the different and focus. I want to lose a stone from now but my first target is def getting into the 9stones so that’s an easy focus to have and it disassociates the feelings I associated with numbers in kilos if that makes sense

Hello everyone, I wondered if I could join you?

I've been doing intermittent fasting for about 2-3 weeks now and I've lost half a stone but I seem to have stopped losing and I'm sort of yo-yo-ing, going up 2lb then down one. I'm trying not to get too number obsessed but that initial big loss ignited a bit of something and now I think I'm over thinking it.

I wondered if maybe doing this would boost my loss and help me get closer to my goal. I am vegan anyway, have been for years, it's just finding the right recipes and trying to keep portions in check! I am terrible for massive portions sizes and I will eat even when full and therefore over eat. I'm desperate to lose more weight though.

I'm currently 11stone 10lb (on a good day) and I'm 5ft 8in - do my BMI is high end of the healthy bracket.
I've had three children in quick succession, the youngest is nearly 1 now.

My goal would be 10 stone, or less if possible. In my glory days I was 9 stone but I don't think that would be achievable now, I was super skinny.

Any tips/thoughts are welcome. I'm feeling a bit lost with it all

Bumping this as I need the inspiration!

I've only just found this (considering fast 800 for the first time) ... I don't understand some of the terminology (in my 50s and have only ever tried slimming world) ... so bit more reading around needed 😉. What might be the best recipe book to buy first (vegan/vegetarian)? Thank you

3kidsaremorethanenough · 20/05/2025 13:50

Hi @user1457480085
How are you getting on with the fast800? I've come looking to see if there are any support threads for it. Just been told I am now pre diabetic and possibly fully Celiac so really need to do something about all this. Have started my 800 cals today breakfast was greek yogurt with strawberries and seeds and dinner will be be halloumi salad. With a banana for dessert! Have about 3 stone to loose. Hope your getting on well with it. I know it definitely does work (have done 5:2 before and it worked so well, but as these things happen came off the rails)
Anyone else up for resurrecting this Fast 800 support thread?

3kidsaremorethanenough · 20/05/2025 13:54

Oh forgot to say I'm using Nutracheck to track my calories (paid for it for the year but I'm hoping it will at least keep me on track if I'm logging and it's great for bringing up most foods) so 850 cals for today

3kidsaremorethanenough · 23/05/2025 10:34

Going to keep posting in the hope of another Fast800 buddy 😁

Yesterday was 820 calories.

Breakfast: Scrambled Eggs (x2) Small avocado with 100g Mushrooms fried in 10ml of Olive Oil. With a cup of coffee with full fat milk.

Dinner: Chilli Non Carne (Quirn Mince Kidney Beans half can of chopped tomatoes with cumin and smoked paprika) with Cauliflower Rice

Bed early last night as I felt sooo tired and hubby came home with pastries from the office!!!

3kidsaremorethanenough · 23/05/2025 10:39

Today is looking like 772 calories

B: Strawberries with blueberries and almonds covered in greek yogurt. Also had a kiwi and cup of coffee (363 calories)

L: Boiled egg (66 calories)

D: Spicy Cod with Carrott Mash and seemed broccoli (343 calories)

Need to keep up with water in take, quiet bad at that. And doing a small walk at some point. Weight this morning is:SW:15s12lbs.

Hopefully see those numbers come down in the next few week

Clearingaspace · 26/05/2025 08:12

Good luck with fast 800 @3kidsaremorethanenough looks like you are doing really well. There was another threads on weightloss chat but it went quiet. I read something recently about how vlcd, so similar to this, achieve faster weightloss than Mounjaro combined with standard weightloss advice! I don’t seem to be able to go low on calories at the moment but really need to!

Facebook has got some great groups where people post before and afters and what they eat which is motivating, might be worth joining a couple.

3kidsaremorethanenough · 26/05/2025 11:02

Hey @Clearingaspace
Thanks for the reply and encouragement. Will check out the Facebook page. Am finding it okay at the moment. Weekends I always find the hardest so I kept the calories at the 1000 but still did a fast from 6pm to 11 Saturday and Sunday and stuck to very low carbs high protein. Back to it today though 😁. It can be tough on the 800 calories, I find the energy does go down by the 3rd day doing it, so I'm just doing a bit of gentle walking. Today's calories are looking like 690 so have a bit of wiggle room to add some more veg or protein into dinner.

Will weigh in on Thursday to see how it's going!
Thanks again and you know I'm here if you decide to have a go at it again 😀

3kidsaremorethanenough · 26/05/2025 11:04

Ohh and I'm not Vegan by the way, I see that's in the title, hope that doesn't put others off 🤔 wonder could I get that changed or maybe just start a new thread 🤔

Clearingaspace · 26/05/2025 12:06

1000 at the weekend is a great idea.

3kidsaremorethanenough · 29/05/2025 17:35

Today's calories are 950, misjudged the weight of my feta cheese 🤭
B: Greek yogurt with berries and seeds
D: Lentil and chickpea Salad with beetroot and Feta cheese (I did have a square of dark chocolate after as well) all counted.
Weighed this morning and 4lbs off - so will keep going with it
SW:15s 12lbs
CW: 15s 8lbs

Need to think about adding in some more exercise 🤔

3kidsaremorethanenough · 30/05/2025 17:28

Kitchen closed this evening on 820 cals

B: 2 scrambled Eggs with feta cheese on half an avocado 🥑 and a coffee with some milk

D: Chilli Non Carne (veggie version) with Cauliflower Rice and had a Kiwi 🥝 for afters

Will up the calories tomorrow to 1000 but hopefully still eat sensible enough although I am craving some dark chocolate 🍫

Did an hour walk last night so going to attempt the same this evening when we do have some sunshine 🌞

Redpriestandmozart · 31/05/2025 21:25

I just found this thread. I'm vegan and have been doing fast 800 for seven weeks, and so far, I've lost 20 pounds. But it's not my first rodeo, I did this a year ago with similar loss, then went on holiday and never got back on board.

I fast from 5 pm to 12 noon, then have two meals. We do eat early, which suits me, I don't like feeling full in the evening. I still religiously stick to 800 cals and also use Nutracheck (paid for the year) I like tracking food and calories. Fitbit has changed so much that I hate it now, it was useful before but I am loving Nutracheck.

user1457480085 · 05/06/2025 16:51

Hi @3kidsaremorethanenough (#3formewastwins!) Hello! ... I'm still going strong with the fast800 - 6 weeks in. Sorry I only just noticed the notification of comments on the thread. I'll have a read and respond x

user1457480085 · 05/06/2025 16:56

@3kidsaremorethanenough my weekends end up a bit more too - it's all the time in the kitchen feeding others. I reckon when the nicer weather is back it might improve a bit!

Your menu sounds good. Do you have 2 meals some days or always 3? I tried 2 yesterday but ended up having a snack in the middle so was 3 really.

BTW If you're following a vegetarian diet 900-1000 calories are recommended on the fast 800, to try and get enough protein x

3kidsaremorethanenough · 07/06/2025 10:00

Hey @Redpriestandmozart &@user1457480085sorry I hadn't been on this week and delighted to hear from other fast800ers 😄 still going with it here too, how long have you been doing it @user1457480085?@user1457480085because I am eating more of a plant based diet (without even being conscious of that if that makes sense) more veg definitely, and keeping the fruit to berries and kiwis( I was listening to Mel Robbins podcast she did with Dr William Li and he recommended kiwi a day for inflamation and gut health I've recently been diagnosed with Coeliac disease) and eggs have always been a favourite food of mine so add them into a lot. All home made foods, staying away from the convience foods or UPF where I can, lots of batch making!
So weighed this morning and have another 5lbs off 🥳
SW:16:4
CW: 15:3
Total loss: 13lbs
I'm definitely not finding it hard, I'm enjoying the food, energy is definitely up, I joined a pilates class yesterday (sore sore today 😅) and am going to a spinning class this morning and will eat when I come back (breakfast is berries and greek yogurt with the kiwi 🥝 😁)
Dinner this evening is chilli non Carne on gluten free fries (as a treat) and a gf choc beetroot brownie with a dollop of greek yogurt 😋 going to keep the weekends up at the 1000 cals as its definitely easier to stick to the 800-900 during the week.

@Redpriestandmozartsame here Red, not my first redo with fasting it served me really well for about 5 years and I was down at a weight I hadn't been since I was a teenager but unfortunately after a bad spell of family brevements I stopped, fell back into old habits and the weight all came back on, and eventually the pain with eating gluten became unbearable. But on the healthy train again now 😁 and feeling so much better.

Have a good weekend folks will look forward to hearing how you are getting on with it all too 😀

3kidsaremorethanenough · 07/06/2025 10:01

Oh @user1457480085meant to say awww no3 being twins, what a surprise that must have been. What age are they now?

user1457480085 · 07/06/2025 10:25

@3kidsaremorethanenough it was a massive shock 😲 ... they're 10 now and I don't think I'm over it 😅. I tried SW shortly after having them but this is the first time I've managed to seriously do anything about the weight gain. I was just under 13 stone before I had them (they weigh you before c section) and was 15 when I started this 7 weeks ago 😞. Like you we've had close family bereavements, autism/home educating and a cancer diagnosis in the last few years to contend with. I feel so positive with this diet though, I'm hoping I can make it a lifestyle change. My sister has followed it and us lighter than she's ever been in adulthood and so active. I've upped my walking but nothing else yet.

You are doing amazingly! Did you make the beetroot brownies yourself? They sound gorgeous!

3kidsaremorethanenough · 07/06/2025 13:59

Aww wow 10 now, well done, one baby is hard enough going I can't imagine two at the same time 😁 yeah life throws these things at us doesn't it, glad your in a better place with it all now too to be able to focus on your self, it's hard because we do tend to put ourselves and our health last on the list. That's great your sister is doing so well with this way of eating too. I think after you hit the mid way point off your 40s it gets harder to keep the weight off, the cake shelf is or spare tyre gets harder to shift 😁, I usually try to stick with the 2 meals a day so that my dinner has a good wack of the calories i hate going to bed starving 😅 the rumbling keeps me awake!! And I'm a devil for nibbling and snacking so Im trying to stick to snacking (I'm pre diabetic too so conscious of keeping down the insulin spikes)

I made the beetroot brownies from the fast800 recipe book, do you have them? I can put it up if you'd like it.
