I am new to 5:2 and would appreciate any help. Bit of background: am 47. Have always been fairly slim ( size 10) without doing much by way of diet or exercise, but in the past couple of years, have gone up to a size 12. I put it down to peri-menopause.
Started the 5:2 in mid February, lost weight very slowly, but had lost about 5 pounds. But the weight keeps coming back and then going away again. I weighed myself yesterday and I am the same weight as when I started, which is terribly unmotivating.
On non fast days, I eat sensibly. New to all this calorie counting but would say I stay under 1600 calories a day. I swim twice a week ( not enough I know; looking to increase that to 4 times a week).
Anyway, my question: is this yo yo weight common with 5:2? Should I continue and hope it levels out?
