Has anyone tried the shakes from the website, I wondered what they were like? Thanks

Would also be interested in this. Anyone?

I use these sometimes for skipped meals etc. I really like them and am on my third order. They taste less artificial than many meal replacement shakes and are not too sweet which I like. They all have an almost nutty texture. I have tried the chocolate and vanilla whey and the vegan one. The latter is my least favourite but still fine. I think the macros are really good and it’s an easy way to take in some extra protein which I struggle with.

Maccalenny · 15/05/2019 19:51

I tried the chocolate one and hated it. Only managed to finish them a couple of times, and the packet sits in my cupboard untouched now.

namechangedforanon · 17/05/2019 23:06

I read on some of the fast800 facebook groups they are rank

Feelingfortyisntfun · 25/05/2019 18:25

I’m afraid I didn’t like them either - I had the chocolate flavour. Now have a bag in the cupboard. Maybe we’re not meant to like them...??!! I suppose they serve a function.

Feelingfortyisntfun · 25/05/2019 18:26

Colour my life did you mix milk or almond milk with yours?

Colourmylife1 · 25/05/2019 19:19

I mixed mine with water. I’ve had both the whey ones and the vegan one.

Feelingfortyisntfun · 25/05/2019 19:32

Thanks colour 😀 hmmm I need to work on my sugar desiring taste buds.

Colourmylife1 · 25/05/2019 20:06

I find them quite rich and satisfying, even with water. And importantly they din’t Make me crave sugar.

BlueBelle81 · 03/06/2019 12:44

I have tried the chocolate one. It tasted overpoweringly of stevia to me (yuck).
I've also found it very difficult to get the powder to dissolve properly and if you don't drink it straightaway it congeals.
When I have one now I always make it in the blender and use a nut milk (hazelnut is actually nice as it seems to balance out the stevia taste) but almond or coconut are good too. I also only use 4 scoops instead of 5.
I'd been banking on it being a super convenient meal alternative (and maybe even a bit of a treat) but they are just a chore and tbh I don't tend to finish them even when I can be bothered to make one.

Feelingfortyisntfun · 06/06/2019 22:39

I actually found this shake better as a dessert rather than drink. I added a small amount of water and made a nice storage choc pudding!

frumpety · 15/06/2019 08:37

Have been looking at the Huel ones, thought about having one at lunchtime instead of a meal, wondered about the chocolate ones and might make it mocha by slinging in some instant coffee ?

IncrediblySadToo · 25/07/2019 12:57

I’ve always avoid meal replacement shakes preferring real food, but I needed more protein, so I’ve just bought the PHD chocolate protein powder to increase my protein (I’m vegetarian, low carbing) but I’m considering doing the Fast800 and think the shakes will be handy IF they taste ok. I was thinking about 2 of these a day then real food for dinner.

I would stick with the PHD but it doesn’t have anything like the same macronutrients in it as the F800, but that’s only any help if they taste good or I won’t use them!

Feelingfortyisntfun · 26/07/2019 19:36

Has anyone done fast800 whilst training for a 5 k (or further)?

Jupiter13 · 28/07/2019 21:36

I'm expert in weight lose....I can easily shed a stone in three days. Forget about fancy drinks.

flamingred · 15/01/2020 11:34

Stevia - ah, is that what it is? I couldn't identify the taste, it was really chemical... I tried them with water and with oat milk, but both were terrible, the texture is weird, almost like slurry. Really disappointed.

olivesnutsandcheese · 15/01/2020 21:36

I'm using the fast800 shakes now to kick start my weightloss. The first time I tried the chocolate one I thought it was gross, very grainy and just not very nice. Since then I've got unsweetened almond milk to add to them and using a nutribullet to mix it and it tastes so much better.
I've done low carb lots of times before but always had terrible carb flu and weakness at the beginning. I'm on day 3 and can honestly say I feel fine, no headaches or any fluey symptoms at all. I'm having a shake for breakfast and lunch and a low carb 300-350 calorie dinner. I don't feel hungry and I've carried on with my usual gym classes too.
I've only tried the chocolate so far but have the vanilla arriving tomorrow. I would give them a try.

flamingred · 16/01/2020 13:14

Hi @olivesnutsandcheese - thanks for the tip. I don't have a nutribullet but will try it again in the blender with almond milk - certainly worth giving it a go, so that it isn't just a waste of cash. Good luck with your weightloss!

olivesnutsandcheese · 16/01/2020 16:38

Thanks, I tried the vanilla today and it was also nice.

RoseyPeas · 24/02/2020 20:03

Hi, I started on these shakes 5 days ago - bought choc, vanilla and strawberry.
I like all of them, although strawberry is my favourite. Most other slimming shakes are full of sugar and I really want to stay away from it!
I have to admit that I do find them boring so I just have them for 2 meals a day. I'm hoping it will just kick start my diet and then I'll be doing BSD.

jc24965 · 24/05/2020 16:38

I bought the vanilla one a few days ago and it tastes vile. The smell alone almost made me gag. Tried it with milk but still no better. Added fruit, but could still smell and taste it. I may as well have a healthy snack for around 200 calories. Won't be using it again.

PADH · 06/02/2021 18:20

Has anyone tried the coffee one?

cakegoblin · 06/02/2021 23:37

Hi I have the coffee one and I like it - it has a slightly more grainy texture than the chocolate - from the nuts I imagine? But yes it’s nice. Even nicer as 3 scoops coffee/2 scoops chocolate mocha shake! About to reorder both.
