Want to start Fast 800 but am so greedy

I'm massively procrastinating here. I have the book and want to start but am:

  1. very greedy. I constantly graze and quite often binge on chocolate, crisps, cheese whatever really.

  2. dreading being ravenous, dizzy etc. I don't deal with hunger very well (see above re greediness....)

Does this sound familiar to anyone? If so, any advice gratefully received!

Hi Stellarae, I'm a greedy guts too and if I worry about feeling hungry then eat way too much. I've been doing Fast800 for four days and it has, as promised in the book, got easier as the week has gone on. Come and join the thread for people starting the diet.

I tried 5:2 years ago but it was just too difficult as I was so hungry. With this diet you can eat quite a bit in a generous window. I think so much of our eating habits are psychological I find now even a couple of celery sticks can keep me going until the next meal.

Have you read the book yet? It's basically turning dieting on its head. Crash diets are now the thing Grin And actually, if you only manage a few days initially, give up, then go back to it, that's ok. There's evidence for 'intermittent dieting' too.

I've tried every diet under the sun and this one, I think, is the most forgiving for us greedy types.

Thanks for your reply catbot. I'm going to bite the bullet and get started next week! See you on the new starters thread Smile

How about drinking vegetable stock? That's what I do if I need to feel like I'm having something more substantial than water, without too many calories. You want the low salt version though! This is what I have:

www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/marigold-swiss-vegetable-vegan-bouillon-powder-60070273?skuid=070273&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&&gclid=CjwKCAiAwojkBRBbEiwAeRcJZJKmPoqaZhEz63ht2o4BR7VkkYGrhop_4sTLzLE9DoWRFME-pvGfQRoC9z4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

If you have a banana for breakfast, a mug of stock for lunch and mug of stock in the afternoon that's only about 200cals altogether, if that. Celery is good to snack on too as it takes more calories to digest than it contains. If you keep yourself going during the day like that you can have a fairly normal evening meal.

Do it! You will be amazed at how good you feel after a few days. The hunger is real but as you go on this really does lessen.

I’m on a FB group and it is so supportive.

I will be honest and say I’ve not done it strictly but even so, the weight is coming off well. I’m currently w2d6 and I’m 9.5lb down. I was scared to begin as well because I don’t like feeling hungry but actually get 4-5 days out of the way and it is fine.
