Hi all....have started the 5:2 way of eating today because at 5ft 8, I somehow weigh 12st 10lbs
and none of my summer clothes fit!!
My DH is very keen to support me with this & he likes this way of eating but...I tried before & think I overate on my non-fast days, because I just didn’t really seem to lose any significant weight (maybe 5lbs over a period of 2 months) I was lighter then as well (11st 10lb).
My main reason for trying again is that I like the idea of the long term health benefits - I have Ulcerative Colitis (which is currently in remission due to some hard core meds) so whilst I know this way of eating won’t cure the UC, I really don’t want a complicated attitude to diet..
I am also one of those people who expect instant success, so it needs to be a subtle change for life, hence the need for help on the non-fast days. I really would like this to work & not for it all to pile back on after 2 days of eating normally.
I will also look through some old threads, but there are so many!
