Anyone else breastfeeding whilst doing 5:2?

I've put off focusing on weight loss until now as I have been ebf, but my son is now 9 months and eating solids well so it feels like a good time to start. I've had success with 5:2 before, and it's so much simpler than other options that it fits into life looking after the kids easily so I am going to give it ago starting tomorrow until Christmas.

Is anyone else around who is breastfeeding who fancies working on this together?

My downfall is always tiredness, and my son doesn't sleep well so we are constantly tired- hence needing other people to help me stay motivated I think.

Me! My DS (second and last child) Is 6 months. I've been doing 5:2 for a few months, gone down a dress size but I've not been very consistent. Tiredness and a stroppy 3 year old don't help.

Hi Ouch, good to see someone else doing the same, it sounds like you have done really well already!

With you on the stroppy 3 year old, my eldest is coming up for 3 and is driving me slightly mad most days 😊.

Did you do a FD yesterday OP?

Muddlinalong · 08/09/2017 13:54

I did one on Monday, and other yesterday. Yesterday didn't work quite as well as I met a friend and had forgotten it was her birthday, so we ended up having cake, oops! But it's a start anyway.

How has your week been?

Is anyone still on this thread?

Have a 6 month old who is just starting weaning and a Reception aged child.

Have seen mixed messages about 5:2 while breastfeeding but I'm pretty sure no harm can come to either of us provided I eat healthily and have balance on the other days!

I'm 5:2ing the past few weeks - have a 2 month old but back at work as well, so hes only feeding at night and in the morning.

Or.. WAS feeding. he;s now teething already and gone on hunger strike. Not sure if that or 5.2 or reduced use has slowed milk supply. Sigh.

I'm pretty sure things have kept up thought with a good water supply.

How is everyone else doing?

hunger strike? Nursing strike
