Have written out my days calories and am actually quite excited about it.... Just had first coffee with a dash of milk which was actually just as nice as my usual huge latte!
Anyone else in the very early days? Motivation still high????!

At the other end, SilverLining! Almost 20 months into fasting - maintaining for nearly a year, and my motivation is, if anything, higher than when I began!

Good luck - if you're finding it hard, it will get easier, promise!

Thanks breadandwine - that's good to hear. I've been ok today so far although do seem to be thinking of food an awful lot more than normal! And noticed how many tv adverts are for food!!! Slow cooker got a veggie curry in it for dinner which smells yum! So far so good! Thanks for your encouragement!!!

Me too! I hadn't quite decided when to start, but when it had got to 1230 and I hadn't had time to eat I thought today was as good as any! Grin

I had a poached egg on toast for breakfast/lunch. Can't decide what's for dinner yet

I think the biggest hurdle of the day is going to be no wine!!

SilverLining · 19/09/2013 17:34

Yes BrassicaBabe - I'm almost hallucinating about a glass of wine!! I had done so well but crumbled when I was making the DDs tea - gobbled up half a chicken goujan in the blink of an eye... Really cross with myself so having a herbal tea and making myself wait for the curry...
Only the first day so trying to not be too harsh on myself...! Hope the rest of your day has gone OK??

I've been drinking vodka and slimline tonic instead of wine on fast days. It's not the same (clearly!) but it makes me feel less deprived and so I stop fantasising about a glass of red! I bought a proper measure, 25mls vodka is 55 calories and a glass of slimline is 3 calories.

SilverLining · 19/09/2013 19:38

Good tip Snoot - I've got diet coke in. a wine glass at the moment to try & kid myself!!!! Can see it being an early night.....Wink

Get some vodka for next time! I'm not normally a spirit drinker but I do find having some in the freezer means I feel the lack of wine less keenly! Waitrose's own is very good and only £10 or £11 for a bottle which lasts much longer than two bottles of wine Grin

Brilliant!!! Will do!!! Found an old jar of hot chocolate in the cupboard - 38 calories for a cup!!! It's done the trick for now but bed definitely calling....Grin
