Hi all,

I am preparing for my newborn and whoaaa there’s a lot to sort! But the world of nappies is a little confusing! I read online the Aldi nappies are the best in the UK and obviously reasonably priced. I guess I’m just finding it hard to believe because they are aldi. I know I sound like a total snob judging them lol and I’m actually not but I’m just trying to get the best for my newborn and wanted advice for mama bears?

also how many is acceptable to buy at the start?

thanks all new

I love Pampers but I start with Aldi as they need changed a lot when they're newborn and it keeps the cost down. I don't rate their wipes though as I found them too dry so prefer Tesco.

My DS had Aldi nappies until they started leaking around 4 months, then switched the Tesco Fred and Flo nappies until the poo leaks started around 6 months, then Pampers nappies and then Pampers pull ups. I'm due baby no.2 soon and starting with 2 packs of 24 Aldi nappies for the hospital and will send my husband out for more. If you've got the space I'd get a couple more packs to start as I do feel like i need some more.

Hope that helps.

I also had Aldi for the newborn ones (size up to 2) and they were great but I had no luck with them once the baby became more mobile, I found they really leaked then.

After that I switched to pampers baby dry from size 3 and found these the best at not stopping leaks. I didn't think they were as expensive as people make out.

Aldi ones are great for newborns.

Once they start moving more I’ve always found it depends on their size and shape.

My youngest was long and skinny. Boots own brand were the best for her. DS2 was chunky and he was Aldi daytime and pampers overnight. DN is recently just out of Rascals.

Boots own brand wipes have been my staple the whole way through. Similar to water wipes, but a fraction of the cost. They don’t disintegrate as easily as the Aldi ones.
