Whatever happened to the male contraceptive pill and when might it arrive?

Years ago, I remember reading something about a male contraceptive pill being in development. Does anyone know what's happening with that?

They stopped it because the test subjects reported side effects such as "hurty heads"! 😉

It's highly unlikely to happen due to the risk benefit balance.

For a woman, pregnancy increases many risks. Therefore, a contraceptive pill only has to have fewer/lower risks than pregnancy.

For a man, any negative side effects basically make the pill a no because there is no positive benefit for them physically.
