How long from referral to receive an appointment

We are TTC but after a private fertility scan we've found out that I have a polyp and fibroid. My GP referred me to gynae over a week ago and I still haven't heard anything.

Should I of heard by now?

You should get a letter acknowledging the referral within 2 weeks ish, but how long it will take to see someone is a bit of a postcode lottery. Where we are it is about a 20 week wait for gynae unless an urgent or emergency.

Hopefully it won't be that long 🤞🏼 should I be able to see the referral on the nhs app? Maybe under "to action"?

It should show there once it’s been processed at the hospital I think so once you get your letter of acknowledgement I’d expect to see it on there. Good luck!

I called my surgery twice this morning, first I was fobbed off by the receptionist being told I needed to wait my turn. Called the Gynae department at my local hospital who told me they would have received my referral by now. So called my Drs back, fully prepared to be shouted at by the receptionist but actually spoke to another one who got intouch with the secretary, who typed up my letter and sent it off whilst I was on the phone. They had a backlog

I can now see it on my NHS app
