I've spent a lot of time thinking about this one, and after weeks and months of consideration, I had the idea to post here (I've dipped in and out for past 20 years!), as I'm still lost!

I had my first child as a teenager. I continued with 6th form, university, work etc. After they were born and was in a professional occupation by the time I was 21 and they were starting school.

We've had a rollercoaster of an experience since then, but has been them and I against the world on our own throughout. They've smashed school and are now at uni, at which point I thought I'd be ready to spread my wings and see the world. I'm not ready to go.

I've found myself in a relationship with someone with a much younger child and with the feeling that my time at home for my child isn't done. We've spent many hours discussing how we could both do it again, but it rests on me, as there would be at the very least a 20 year age gap.

I was also diagnosed with Crohn's disease last year and spent the entire summer in hospital, so am just getting back to 'normal'.

I'm surprisingly for me thinking that I'd like to try again, but it's such a huge age gap I'm apprehensive. Does anyone have any positive stories they can share, or negatives, to balance the thought process.

Thank you.
