Anyone who's had the implant or injection

Could you give me an honest appraisal of how painful they both are please? DD is autistic with sensory issues around needles so we're trying to gauge what she will be best able to cope with. She prefers the idea of the implant overall but is concerned about insertion/removal and we also need to know how 'stingy' both the local anaesthetic injection for the implant and the depo injection are if anyone could share their experiences please 🙏

Don't remember it hurting at all, but usually had a really sore arm after for a couple of days. (implant)
However, I wouldn't have it again - the hormones seemed to build up for me gradually and after a few years got some side effects that were so gradual I didn't notice, but once it was out I returned to "me" again. Sadly, as with a lot of the hormonal contraceptive it effects people very differently in hard to measure ways
