Is Kavos, Corfu a nice place for a family holiday?

Hi there, I am looking for a budget holiday for a family of 4 including 2 teenangers (15 and 13 next summer). I found a nice looking place in Kavos, Corfu. We are a quiet family, even the teenagers. I am reading that Kavos seems to be a bit of wild place. Has anyone been there recently? What are your impressions?

Post on the travel board rather than family planning. It’s not somewhere I’d choose as it had a rep as a party resort even years ago and I can’t imagine it’s got quieter or tamer.

It might be a bit rowdy.

Haven't been to that part of Corfu but it's the party place. The north-east coast is gorgeous and quiet with little coves and pebble beaches. A bit noisier but still lovely probably cheaper than the posh bits of the northeast is Sidari. If you stay outside it, it can be quiet but with the bars of Sidari nearby.
We've stayed in a couple of apartments outside Sidari that were really nice and not expensive. Do you want hotel or apartments?

I've not been and I've also never been offered it as a form of contraception.

I have been to Crete but both times I wax with the girls, no men involved so I can't say if all of the Greek Isles have a contraceptive effect...

No, it was the pits when I was 17 and on a girls holiday. Even I recognised what a shit tip it was back then. The town was absolutely vile during the day.

The weather was good though!

Its a piss up party shag fest resort. It may have changed but I doubt it. There was a documentary called What happens in Kavos or similar about 10 years ago. It was still full of pissed up people.l vomiting in the streets and getting shit tattoos whilst off thier faces.

I'd not take the gamble for a family holiday. Pretty much anywhere else.i Corfu would be lovely.
