Sorry wrong area I know I couldn't find a section to put this on. I guessed this would be the most probable area for a gyno.

I've been to the doctors had blood tests all is normal I fall within thr normal range including testosterone.
Why do I get it? Not where I need to shave buy I definitely need to pluck about 20 hairs or so, they grow back quite quick for the week I'm due on & they go away again so it's hormonal. I hate it

No idea but I get them now.

I had a hysterectomy last year and kept my ovaries.

It's since then.

I've guessed it's also hormone related but I obviously have no idea of what type of cycle of have or timing?!

Not enough estrogen then maybe. Are you on HRT?

Seems entirely normal to me.

I get some chin hairs. They are most easily seen in the rear view mirror of my car. A pair of tweezers kept in my car come in very handy to yank them out anytime I notice them.

Doesn't everyone ?

Emma09125 · 18/02/2023 17:26

I don't know if it's normal 🤣 I've casually mentioned it to friends & none of them have said yeah Me too 🤣 I'm actually abit freaked out of going yo be old & have proper whiskers 🤣 it has to be hormonal for me atleast. I just want to know what does it so I can help it.

I've had chin hairs since my mid 30s.

Best place as PP said is car for tweezing as the light is good. Also my mirror in the work toilets always shows them up.

It's totally normal.

Keep your eyes peeled for the random side neck hairs that grow about an inch long by sneaky stealth.

Progesterone hike before period pushes everything out.... Hairs, and also gears the body up to push out/shed the lining of the womb. Some people also get sneezy and runny nose in advance of period, this is all due to progesterone (I think.... Its been some time since I researched this).

So the hsirs get a boost out at a certain time of the month.

Buy a Philips Lumea to lazer them away, its worth the investment.

Thankyou. I'll give that a go. Xx

Is it the hormones that also mean you get the peach fuzz blonde ones and then suddenly wake up with cm long black course hairs - about 5/6 of them?!

Interesting about progesterone. I was on northisterone before my op.

I'm not on HRT. Because I still have my ovaries I didn't need to start it until I show signs of menopause.

Emma09125 · 18/02/2023 18:45

I know, but my hairdresser (she's a friend) hates my peach fuzz & shaves it off for me 🤣🤣 I don't really notice it as its the back of my neck & side burns area my hair covers it so never take notice. But maybe lol. It started when I had first daughter 14 years ago now. But its got worse as the years have gone on. Been tested for polycyclic ovaries & all is fine. I also get cystic acne when I'm due on. It's not noticeable to other people as its all under the skin its just like Jesus give me a break with the hormones lol

Oh these hairs. I had none yesterday, sat in car in blazing sun today and 3 huge long ones! Also keep pair of tweezers in side of door!

Emma09125 · 18/02/2023 18:51

Ah well it's a relief I'm not the only one lol. Xx

They're quite fun though - keeps my fingers busy at the traffic lights, brushing over those tell-tale spikes. Then the satisfaction of pulling them out with the Tweezermans...

Or am I just a total weirdo?

Not weird. I know exactly what you mean about the spikes. 😂

Emma09125 · 18/02/2023 20:08

Not a weirdo at all, if you are then I am too. I have always treated this as my secret habit 🤣 It's become a routine like brushing my teeth feel my chin 🤣

Ah I'm laughing out Loud
