The Evewell vs. London Egg Bank vs. ? for egg freezing

I am turning 38 in November and I have decided to freeze my eggs as I currently don't have children but would like some one day.
I've looked at a few clinics online and like The Evewell and London Egg bank, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with egg freezing there - or anywhere else - and could recommend? I don't really know which to go for.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Hannah

I’m also 38 and trying to figure out what to do. I have had consultations at Lister and ARGC. I’m recently single (broke up as was with a guy who decided he didn’t want children). The routine fertility MOT showed I have reduced ovarian reserve which has freaked me out. Im not considering just going solo with a sperm donor as don’t want to miss the boat. Egg freezing there is no guarentee of anything and they say less successful when older . It all feels like a gamble! Have you had a fertility MOT yet and would you consider going solo ?

I lost all my eggs (due to premature ovulation) before Egg Retrieval with London Egg Bank. I dont believe I was monitored sufficiently and went through the whole pain and stress of IVF for the eggs to go just before my surgery. Waste of money

That's shocking - surely they refunded you your money, since it was their error??

No they only refunded 800 ( when I paid thousands)
Their after care was truly shocking. I honestly wouldn’t recommend. Please choose wisely

I’ve gone to lister and they’ve been very good

Do you mind me asking if you had any waiting time before being able to start the process at the lister? I’ve tried calling the lister in Chelsea a few times and can never get through.

@ChocCake1928 i didn’t have much of a wait at all tbh. I had the fertility mot first and then spoke to the consultant mr Faris who advised options. I had a think about it and a few months later I decided to go with it and then it was pretty straightforward once I’d picked a start date

ChocCake1928 · 26/03/2023 16:06

Okay that’s helpful to know. Were you pleased with your experience at the lister? It’s such a minefield choosing isn’t it.

Starlight38 · 26/03/2023 19:11

@ChocCake1928 i had a good experience. They froze 6 eggs from my first cycle which was much higher than expected with my v low AMH of 1.54 pmol

it was a straightforward 2 week process

I’d recommend Mr Faris. The consultant comes up with the plan and from then on you’re seeing nurses and sonographer for bloods and scans and on the day of collection it’s generally any consultant as they all know what they’re doing

ChocCake1928 · 26/03/2023 19:23

Okay, that’s really helpful to know. Thank you so much!
