Hi all. Never posted on here before! I've been on the pill since age 21, no problems whatsoever. Just turned 35, will be thinking of trying for a family in the next year or so but want this awful coronavirus to get lost first! Not living with husband at the moment for quarantine/key worker reasons, so I was wondering if I should come off the pill for a few months. Everything I've googled re. fertility in late 30s refers to having a good, regular, problem-free menstrual cycle. I don't know what my true menstrual cycle is because I've been on the pill so long. As far as I can remember I didnt have any problems before age 21. Is it worth coming off the pill for a while to check everything is OK with my cycle, or will that just screw things up more? Got a long holiday planned next summer and having a period would be really inconvenient, so would want to go back on it for a couple of months, then come off the pill to start trying for a family next autumn when I'll be about to turn 36. Advice please! Confused

Definitely come off it. It can take a year to settle down. I don't think you should mess about by going back on the pill just for a holiday....so what if you have a period? Having a baby is much more important than not bleeding on your holiday.
