Medical abortion with little to no pain? TMI.

Hi everyone. I'm 6 weeks pregnant and am currently experiencing a medical abortion as this is what's right for my family at the moment.

I took the first pill Tuesday morning and then the first 4 of the next 6 at 5pm yesterday. I popped a pad on and carried on as usual. A few hours later I went to the loo and the bleeding had started, heavy. About 20 minutes after that I felt a huge clot pass, which I saw, and then the bleeding carried on. I took the next and last 2 pills at 8:30pm and I'm still bleeding, have passed one more small clot. I've had some mild cramps but other than that, no pain.

Is this normal?

Was the first very large clot likely to be the pregnancy?

I had one at 14 weeks so was in hospital but it sounds like to me the first clot was the pregnancy and all sounds pretty normal. If you're worried though just give the midwives a ring, they'd always be happy to help and better to put your mind at rest if you're worrying, but as I said sounds like its passed. Not a nice thing to go through, hope you have someone with you x

@Flave90 thank you. Sorry to hear you had to go through the same. The first clot was huge, no bigger than but the same size as a lemon. I think I may have worked myself up for it to be this horrible, drawn out, painful process and now it's happened quickly and with little pain I'm convincing myself it can't be right!

I think with it being earlier it can be like that. At 13 weeks I only had mild pain managed with paracetamol. I researched a lot about it beforehanf and some people said no pain and others said slight pain, it does sound like that may be it thought, hopefully it is x

@Flave90 oh I see! The leaflet I got said severe pain! The bleeding is more like a regular period now with no more clots so I think it has indeed passed now.
