So I went on the pill ( triregol ) over a year ago due to bad pms and generally feeling very hormonal. Since being on it I’ve struggled to lose weight whatever I do and have no sex drive what so ever! Literally stopped fancying husband so it’s not been great and whilst it’s really changed my life in stabilising my moods I feel pretty meh... neither up nor down! I’ve tried stopping it and once again back to feeling really hormonal but sex drive is back woohoo! Not sure which is the worse to deal with tbh. Anyone have any ideas what could help me ? Thank you!!

Have you tried the coil instead I hated the pill (ended up pregnant on it too lol)

No have always been too scared to have the cool fitted incase I don’t get on well with it 🤭

I had the mirena bled for about 5 weeks but then no probs after hormones were fine and no bleeding which was a plus

I had the copper coil fitted today for exactly the same reasons. I did have a break from the pill for 3 months at the beginning of the year and felt amazing! My skin was better, my appetite calmed down and my sex drive returned. I'm counting down until Sunday because that's the last pill in my pack and then it's hormone free all the way lol.

@G3m81 ohh hope it works well for you 👍🏻 Does it still help with PMS?

@NC4this123 I don't think the copper coil does because it's hormone free. My doctor didn't recommend the Mirena coil (hormones) because she said I'd probably have the same side effects that I had on the mini pill. If this doesn't work then my final option is sterilisation as I definitely don't want anymore kids.

@G3m81 ah ok, this is my dilemma though I either suffer from bad PMS or I’m numb on the pill 🤣 really can’t decide which is worse! Maybe sterilisation would help me too but I’m not 100% if I’ll have any more children just yet

I think the pill made me 'meh' too. Definitely noticed I fancy people more intensely since coming off it (after 9 years my body decided to randomly reject it!) But I can't sleep with them incase I get pregnant xD rock and a hard place lol.

The weight thing is a bummer, maybe change up the way you diet? I lost 15lbs last year whilst on the pill so it is doable.

Maybe consider changing the brand of pill. I totally agree with you about not wanting to go on the coil. If my body had rejected it or it had made me nuts then I wouldn't have just been able to stop taking it like I did with the pill. Plus my flatmate in college got pregnant on it after having sex one time!(doc said it hadn't even malfunctioned!) so I'm bias xD
