Anyone taken Glycerin cough syrup in early pregnancy?

I'm 4 weeks pregnant and have a terrible cold and cough. My cough at night is so bad I can't sleep and very time I cough I wake up my toddler 😕

I went to pharmacy today and asked about cough syrup and they said glycerin would be fine. I'm just worried it won't be. Anyone taken in early pregnancy and baby has been fine?

I don't think there is anything in it apart from glycerin and sugar.
You would be better off making an infusion with chopped ginger root and honey.
Put a tablespoon of peeled, chopped root ginger in a mug, pour on boling water, leave it with a saucer on top for 2 or 3 minutes, add honey and sip it slowly while inhaling the steam.
You can take it several times a day.
You can do the same with lemon and honey, but use unwaxed lemons.

Its totally fine it's mostly sugar. It's the same stuff that's in baby cough syrup like tixylix

I took it in both of my pregnancies and it's fine. As other PP have said, it's basically children's cough medicine anyway, there's bugger all in it.
