Do any of you use the withdrawal method?

Or do you consider those who use only this method to be significant risk?

Okay thank you for all your replies - something to think about.

We used this for three years before kids but getting pregnant wouldn’t have been a issue. I didn’t get pregnant but later had fertility issues so not sure it’s such a ringing endorsement.

We used it for a year after I came off the pill (we knew we were goin to TTC at some point so if I’d got pregnant it wouldn’t have been a big deal). Then when we decided to ‘actively’ try and there was no withdrawal I fell pregnant first time, so in our experience it worked.

Been using it successfully for 8(?) years & have 2 (planned) children. Both conceived on first attempt.

Yes I used it (and tracking my cycles) successfully for 8 months, conceived the first month we stopped. Used it again for a couple of months, again conceived very quickly when we stopped. I've gone back on the pill after DC2 having previously had no problems, but I've been bleeding/spotting for 3 weeks solid since starting it! So I'm pretty tempted to come off it and just use w/d. With two young DC, I feel like the risk is low anyway!

That's how I ended up with my third child Smile

Me. I am 27 this year and got married at 22. Been using withdrawal for over 5 years. Never got pregnant.

TBH, I wish we could start trying but we can't cos of covid, our belated weddings (we postponed it cos I didnt want a wedding before buying a flat) and we want to hit some financial goals.
