Could it be because of the depo injection?

Not had depo injection for over 2 years now. Recently found out I was pregnant. Doc says I am 6 weeks on Tuesday. On Saturday I started spotting, then Sunday blood with stringy blood in, like a light period (mine are back to normal now heavy periods) midwife says no concerns as not heavy. Some cramps.
Is this a miscarriage? Has anyone had trouble conceiving after the depo? If so did you carry on trying? Please help midwife wont see me till I'm 6 weeks but this weekend has been a nightmare so far

Hi, sorry to say this and I hope you are ok. I became pregnant 7 months after last depo and the same thing happened to me. Cramps, spotting, stringy and by the next morning I had miscarried. I was 6 weeks along. You may be able to get an early scan.
I know a few people who have had this after depo and they have gone on to have successful pregnancies after a mc. I'm really sorry I hope you are ok and it's nothing to worry about. Flowers

Thank you. Have you been pregnant since? I suppose I was being hopeful but I think I know what my body is telling me.

Started ttc a year after coming off depo. Took a year to become pregnant, unfortunately followed by two miscarriages. I was full of despair and didn't know what the problem was. Happily I am now mother of three, I'm convinced it was the depo that messed up my hormones as I clearly had no problems at all after that. Don't give up, it will eventually get out of your system and fingers crossed for a successful pregnancy Smile

@gueat1233 no I haven't become pregnant since as it was fairly recent. I do have a child already and went on the depo after he was born so this would have been my second pregnancy. I think we are going to wait maybe 6 months or so before trying again (not because of the mc, but because DH is about to start a new job and my ds will be starting school soon).
How are you today? Has the spotting stopped?

I have just passed a large clot and bleeding is more like a period now. I was on the depo for 6 years. I have probs only been off it over half a year. It the first time we have got court. I did say to my partner I think its because of the depo due to what it does to the lining of the womb. We had 3 days of happiness I suppose and even though we wasnt trying we now know we are ready for when the time comes again. Thank you for your help and support xx

Oh I'm sorry :( it's not going to be as bad as you think, if you are worried about what it will be like. Mine was over by a few days and was like a period. I'm so sorry you are going through this. It's absolutely gutting isn't it :( here for you FlowersBrew

I'm hoping it wont be too long now. My periods are heavy anyway so if this is that wont be too worrying. I keep thinking I'm so silly coz I was only 5 weeks but still we planned the future and was happy. And wondered how our other children would be about the news and our mums Haha the normal stuff. We will get there though.
