Help! How long can you miss a period for

Getting abit worried and annoyed now as it's been nearly 3 months now getting negative tests and been to the doctors and they fobbed me off with oh can take 6 months as I'm nearly 6months post pregnancy. But I'd had a period already after birth. They told me to go and get my coil fitted, which is what I want but my partner is adamant he thinks I'm definitely pregnant so doesn't want me to go for the coil. I'm at the end of my tether and just want to know now. Has anyone else had this problem? Anxiety is going wild 😩

I didn’t get my periods back until around 9 months each time.

It's not uncommon to have this after pregnancy, but I thought a coil has to be fitted during your period? That's how gynaes do it here.

Before doing anything down there, I'd want a scan to be honest.

Iv already had a period since birth as they gave me a contraceptive pill I'd never had n I was almost bleeding the whole month I was on it so decided to stop and wait to have my coil fitted, and then obviously as time went on and nothing happened I wanted to be sure first, I feel like my doctor just wanted to get me out cause no explanation just oh can take 6 months. Ideally a scan would help prove either way but not sure if I can just request one 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️

The bleed from the contraceptive pill was likely hormonal but not a true period (ie not caused by natural cycle of ovulation). If the pregnancy tests are still negative, then it's likely your periods simply haven't restarted. Can you ask your GP? Why does your partner think you're pregnant despite all evidence to the contrary?

Iv been to my doctor n they just said can take 6 months to come back. My partner is convinced because my first pregnancy similar happened I had negative tests and also recently my skin has gotten worse (psoriasis) which I got with that pregnancy that never went, says I look it too but I'm still carrying weight from pregnancy and could definitely lose a few pounds. I keep telling him I definitely don't feel it. I'm a thinker (anxiety) so my need to know is pretty annoying lol
