Pregnancy plans with ME/CFS and income protection insurance

Hi guys

First post here and really not sure which forum this belonged in as also has two elements to it.

1- I have been diagnosed with ME and am three years in now. Starting to reach the moderate stage and before winter arrived (which always makes symptoms worse) was feeling much better. Just a tad set back now. Before I was diagnosed me and my partner discussed having children. He has two from a previous relationship but me none. I am 35 next year and so my clock is ticking. I have heard many stories that ME sufferers can cope well under pregnancy and post pregnancy. I wondered if anyone has had their own experiences that they can share? For example was it more difficult to conceive and how did you cope?

2- I am off work sick at present and my income is being covered by my firms income protection insurance. I get paid 50% of my salary from them. They cover for a max of 5 years and it’s been two so far. I was wondering what would happen if I fell pregnant while under that cover for illness? For example would they terminate the claim as I was pregnant? I’m sure that they wouldn’t as it’s discrimination if they did and I will still have ME which they are covering for. Just wondered if anyone had any experiences along those lines? It’s a block policy with work and I don’t get to see all the policy info unfortunately.

Thanks in advance and please let me know if this armature is in the wrong forum section 😂
