Mirena Coil - symptoms seem to be getting worse?

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but I had the Mirena fitted back in May. The fitting itself went very smoothly.

I did find I was bleeding pretty much non stop for months after, but it finally settled down and I seemed to have 2 months of a somewhat normal cycle. However, since my last period I've been bleeding pretty much on and off for 3 weeks now! Anyone else experienced this?

I'm wondering whether it's a normal side affect, or if I should go and see the doctor to check there are no other causes.

Hi Frazzle, yes I had exactly the same. Mine never settled down (I spotted every single day) and I had it taken out after about 14 months (I had absolutely awful side effects from it as well). I'd had a hysteroscopy when they put it in so I knew there was nothing else that could cause the bleeding. I had it taken out a month ago, had a very painful period, and haven't spotted at all since!
