Carrier of Becker Muscular Dystrophy

Hi,

I've been given the news that I am a carrier of Becker Muscular Dystrophy today. My brother suffers from this condition and my mum and Grandma are also carriers.

I know a lot about the condition itself as I've grown up knowing about it and seen the affects it's had on my brother.

My mum didn't know she was a carrier until my brother was diagnosed at 6 years old and I am 3 years older than him. This has meant that they didn't have genetic counselling or testing etc before conceiving us.

Me and my partner will be thinking about having children in the near future and we are really unsure what to do.

We have been for genetic counselling and we've been through all the options but we're still stuck.

I want to know if anyone else has been through something similar, maybe with the more common Duchenne? And if anyone has any advice etc.
