POSITIVE cerazette stories

There's only negative stuff on here but cerazette is my last option so I'm desperate to hear good things before I try it.

Anyone??

My sister is 8 years on it and has never had any issues. No periods in years.

awkwardsitch · 20/03/2018 05:40

How long did you bleed for before you stopped initially?

I had 1 normal period length bleed and then nothing apart from spotting very occasionally

I like it. Merina made me crazy but cetrezette has been fine. Not got much libido but then I hadn't since I had my baby 3 years ago I'm not sure how much that's just life. Didn't have much libido on merina either

I’m hoping for a positive outcome too.
Tried it years ago but bled constantly . Have been taken off the combined pill which I felt devastated about and put on cerazette .
My acne is slowly coming back and my periods started again after just 1.5 weeks since last one :(
I really hope it’s settles down. I’m getting married in a few months and don’t want to be a spotty bleeding bride!!!!!!

I have an implant, but use desogestrel to control the bleeding. I don't notice any difference (except lighter bleeding- as intended) when I use it.

I work in pharmacy; we currently give cerazette as it is more profitable for us. Surgeries will go through phases of prescribing by different brand in order to save costs, but cerazette and cerelle are the same thing. I always ask for it it to be prescribed as the generic, as there have been intermittent supply issues with both brands previously and going back for the prescription to be changed from cerelle to cerazette (or VV) is irritating and costly for the NHS anyway.

I took it for about 7 years. 2 before DD1 was born and 4 years after. It stopped my periods and worked really well for me with no side effects.

Then I had DD2 and afterwards took it for another year. I continued to have periods and my libido dropped massively, I also gained some weight. So I stopped.

I find it quite interesting that I could take it for so long and be fine and then on day it just worked differently for me.

Loyaultemelie · 25/03/2018 11:50

I was on it for 3 years after dd1 and had no problems and no periods which was a win! Went back on after dd2 and again no problems but unfortunately this time do get my period grr. I have chronic daily migraines so combined pill not an option and I'm prone to heavy and prolonged bleeding so avoid the implant and coil

Comps83 · 29/03/2018 23:13

I’m wondering how long I should persevere with this. Surely continuous bleeding can not be good for a person?!

user2929 · 30/03/2018 10:35

I don't think it's uncommon to spot for a few weeks.

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 10/04/2018 18:43

Comps can your GP give something to control bleeding in the meantime?

user2929 · 19/04/2018 09:18

Comps83 how's it going? I'm going to get my holidays out the way and then start it in August as I don't want random bleeding to spoil it.
