Due to have an operation on my ovaries later this year and the consultant has agreed the surgeon will be able to pop clips onto my tubes during the procedure.
Absolutely sure of my decision for many reasons, but I'm just wondering if anyone has had any negative effects from the procedure?
The consultant has said that either plastic or metal clips will be used. Is one preferable over the other from a patient's viewpoint? I know it sounds silly, but would metal clips set off airport scanners etc?!!
Also, I have really irregular periods, always have! This has been pinpointed to the ovary issue I'm having surgery for. Due to my irregular periods, the consultant has suggested I consider the pill or implant so that I'm a bit more regular, but I've tried these in the past and really don't feel well on hormonal contraception. Is it really not advisable to be sterilised if you have irregular periods? I'm not sure why she suggested this and then agreed for me to have it done if it's an issue 🤔
Sorry for the rambling post. As I said, I'm 100% sure this is right path for me, there are just a few queries I have!! Thanks in advance x
